2016 Honda Odyssey | 5 Reasons to Buy | Autotrader

If you've shopped for a minivan, then you know about the Honda Odyssey. Honda seems to have the minivan formula down and the 2016 Honda Odyssey is no exception. That said, Honda is striving for improvements year after year. This Honda family vehicle is still at the top of its game and here are five reasons why.
Distinctive Styling
Great styling generally isn't at the top of a minivan's checklist but the Odyssey begs to differ. The sporty looking aerodynamic front end and the signature beltline with a zigzag below the rear-side window work well together. You won't be able to lose this Honda in a parking lot, unlike other minivans.
Impressive Power and Fuel Economy
With a standard VTEC 3.5 liter V6 that produces 248 horsepower, the Odyssey is ready for the road. How about returning 28 miles per gallon on the highway? That is a nice number to have on a family trip and at higher rpm's, it really does move. It's as efficient as some V6 family sedans, which you don't expect out of a minivan.
Features Galore
Out of the gate in base form the Odyssey LX trim level comes well-equipped. You even get an 8-inch infotainment system with Bluetooth and some nice alloy wheels. The EX trim level has power-sliding doors and a 7-inch touchscreen. And who could forget the Touring trim level, with a widescreen rear-seat entertainment system -- perfect for the children. This van has a little something for everyone.
Enormous Interior
The Odyssey is pretty massive, even compared to other minivans. All three rows have room for kids, adults or adult-sized kids for that matter. Now get this, removing the second row seats and folding the rear seat into the floor creates about 150 cu ft. of cargo space. That's a number that exceeds the Chevrolet Suburban but be sure and check Chevy's fuel economy before comparing the two.
Fun to Drive
For such a large vehicle, the Odyssey has a sporty feel to it. Suspension engineers did a great job because there is little body roll and precise steering, which weighs in heavily when the wind's kicking around on a family road trip. The Odyssey is surefooted and gives parents who love to drive the confidence needed to reassure their family's safety and security.
