The Audi A8L Sport is awesome! I have never driven a car this nice for under 100K and that's because there isn't another like it.

Excellent review! If this vehicle was in my price range, I would definitely purchase it. After, I am finished leasing the 2015 Genesis, I will lease the A6.

I forgot to mention that this A8L Sport is also nearly $30k less than the outgoing S8. The A8L Sport engine is the same as the S8. The A8L has the long wheelbase (the S8 was only available in short wheelbase). The S8 Plus will be out soon, and it will be the original S8 with an insane 600+ hp.

+Diesel Review Yeah that was one of my concerns with the S8 about the long wheelbase, I always prefered the long wheelbase. The exhaust pipes, exterior trim and rims look different from the S8. Anything else ? And please the name for the music in the background. Thank you.

The S8 was very stealth to begin with. The new S8 Plus will be more noticeable in the aerodynamics and power. The A8L Sport mainly takes the 450hp V8 from the S8 and what you get is a massive rocket for the same price as the S6, but the A8L Sport retains that stealth look and sound more than the S6 or S8 Plus.

Hmmm...idk If you mentioned the catastrophic issues with the turbo oil screens and pcv oil separator...? Ticking time bomb that could go any second...models 13-17 with 4.0t. 10k to fix btw....IF there is no shards of metal in your oil.

Loved ur review! I have a question, im looking at used 2014/2015 s class 550 and this 2015 A8L 4.0 im not sure which one is better and idk which one to buy. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Only the 2016 A8 L has the 450hp motor from the S8. That means this is not the same as the 2015 A8. The S550 or A8 should only be purchased under a Certified Pre-Owned Extended Warranty. I would not want either car without a factory warranty up to 100k miles.

Good question. The A8L does have an optional rear seat comfort package. There is also an even better rear seat package available on the W12 model, but those are very rare.

Nice review and very sweet car. I'm sure yo already knew this but a friend of mine that owns one of the effected Golf's texted me and said he received a $1000 check and a $500 gift card from VW that can be used at the dealership for whatever. I told him that I wouldn't use it just yet or at least until this unfolds a little more so he could keep his options open legally. I'm not really sure if it was good advice but.....anyway.

Thanks for watching! As for the VW news, if VW is calling the funds "goodwill," then that's exactly what it is. Goodwill and compensation are two different things. VW is also adding 3 years of roadside assistance for TDI owners. I think it's important to note that many TDI owners are buy and hold purchasers. VW's offer of goodwill for the owners is something I would accept, although I did own two affected VWs and two affected Audis (the Audis have the V6 and are under a bogus EPA claim). We need long range capabilities without reliance on public transportation. Killing diesels, especially in this political and financial climate, is a mistake. I'd take the goodwill and use it to fuel some road trips. The dealer credit could pay for a few fuel filter changes, oil filters, and cabin filters - I'd stock up on diy parts and keep driving.

+Diesel Review He's in a bind. His was a lease and his lease is about to expire in Jan and of course at the moment he can't renew it with a new Golf diesel and they won't sell it to him either...WTF?? I'm not sure what he's going to do. Just wait I guess.

Yeah, leasing is always a bad idea. It's like going to the rental car counter and saying "I insist, let ME pay for all tax, title, and insurance. I'll even pay for all the maintenance, including brakes AND tires before I give it back to you when I'm done." The only thing he can do is go lease something else. But when you look at what's on the market, he'll likely go right back to the Golf again and again. If he can spend more money on the next lease, he might like the Audi Q3. But VW has $2k loyalty money for him as well. So he can take the money and run, or he can ride it to the last day and get a GTI like everyone else. The reason why he can't buy it is probably because no bank will lend on it. Cash is king in this scenario. In contrast, if he owned it, it only matters what it's worth on the day he sells it. This is why VW has a bigger problem... they don't really sell cool cars anymore. If they brought over the Skoda Superb and called it a Jetta, VW wouldn't have any problems moving on. Unfortunately, they decided to compete for the wrong customers. I never understood the VW commercials with the old hags talking smack on diesel. That is not how to sell a cool car.

+Diesel Review LOL! Yeah, I told him to get a GTI. We'll see what happens. I looked at one of these but I was so hung up on the S7 I just couldn't get past it. Maybe when I grow up or gain some weight I'll go this direction because it is one big. comfortable car.

+Ted Davis This A8L Sport is the 450hp S8 replacement. There is a 605hp S8 Plus on the way in a few months. The S7 was the tamest S model I have experienced. You can bet the S8 Plus will be the power barge to behold. I would wedge myself into a TTS, S4, S5 Cabriolet, or Porsche Macan Turbo at this point.

Good review but I don't understand why you keep referring to the S6 and A6 to the A8 when they are in different categories

The S6 and A8 4.0 share the same engine, horsepower, and acceleration times. The A8 is only slightly larger. The S8 has like 550hp and S8 plus has 605 hp with much higher costs, whereas the S6 and A8 are more similarly priced.

I came here to watch a video review about a luxury car, all I heard was talk about performance.

I have an A3 2.0 and while I'd say it's half an A6, it's not half an A8 (and neither is the current A4). Thanks for watching!

Is it nice? Yeah sure... Is it the best in the group? Meh.. not really. (even tough i'm a VAG fanboy) the S Class is a lot better! In the Audi, the dashboard still looks a lot like the 2004 A8

It's sportier than the standard S550. The D4 A8L Sport is not as luxurious as the S-class but it feels more like the E38 740iL (which is timeless).
