Stunning lap. Scary part is if you look at the predictive (bottom middle of dash)...there was at least another 0.5s in it. Every other corner or straight it would lose some time and gain it back in other turns/straights. Nuts. He was short shifting and holding some gears longer. Working really hard to get all the usable traction.

Interesting shift points. It seems like he's shifting early while powering out of some turns. Especially when he's reached the car's max grip point after the apex, instead of letting off the gas, he shifts a little early which lets the car settle for that split second, and also lowers the torque to the wheels (4th low rpm instead of 3rd mid/high rpm) while powering out of the turn. It's only possible because this car has tons of power with little lag and can muscle back into the powerband.

+Mugshot Marley Settles the car for the next corner. Watch V8 Supercars and pretty much every other car that races here and does same thing

Johnzy Dang, nitrous too? I didn't know they could run NOS. Regardless, this thing looks like a handful when drivin in anger. Props to the team/driver!

+Mugshot Marley Short shifting is like the oldest race car trick trick in the book, right up to F1 and LeMans. You don't necessarily need engine speed to maintain optimum car speed - or more specifically tyre speed. Maintaining traction with a lower engine speed = a faster car.

those speeds on the turns are similar to an f1 car, maybe because of the aero?

WTAC cars are very impressive and fast but no where near F1 performance. WTAC is using common street tires, they can't resist many g's compared to a wider racing slick tire.
