Can I assume , that as it is with other automatics . You "go thru the gears " & then check the fluid ?

I changed the transmission fluid on my Toyota. It had never been done before and there was no sign of leaks. I put in exactly how much it drained out. The car was left overnight so the engine was cold. One thing I don't understand. The fluid drained out pretty good when I opened the drain plug and the drain straw was in place. But why after changing out the fluid, I started the engine and checked temp of transmission pan. It was 106 degrees F, the fluid was still coming out. I thought Toyota calibrate the fluid so fluid level was even with the height of the straw when temp is in the range of 103-114 degrees F.

If your transmission isn’t leaking why not just add the same amount that you drained? It seems like it would be a lot easier and you wouldn’t need a scan tool.

For anyone watching this video that acutally needs help, it's probably their first time changing it. How did you know the guy/shop that did the job last time did it right? Just as an engineer myself, I do not give my trust to nobody before they earned it.

Because they have been known to leave the factory with low levels of ATF!

Fluid expands when warm. Your car needs to be cold and you need to trust that the fluid level was right in the first place

What happens if you just fill it up with the amount that came out, just like the old school way of doing tranny fluid.
