Man I am so bummed out hearing about Shared Belief's passing. What a true champ. I think the whole racing world was looking forward to seeing him destroy the 2016 season. R.I.P champ.. We will miss you truly and thanks for the memories.

TVG needs to get its $hit together!!!!!!!! Why can't they broadcast in this type of video resolution through their website for the people that are actually making wagers????? The people that make bets, come back to the site later and want to experience the race via a replay are given a HORRIBLE grainy replay, and watching it live on their site is even worse. HONG KONG Jockey club understands this - go to their website and watch a replay, the video quality is unbelievable....

This is one of the best horses I have ever seen in my lifetime, maybe even better than Curlin. See how he runs against Dortmund? HAHAHA. He will destroy any horse he faces in this country.

Its disppointing that he didn't compete in last years Triple Crown. He was the two yr old champion and would of had a real good chance at the Triple!!!

3yr olds go for the Triple Crown. Have to be 3yrs old and win so many points towards it to be a contender for the Triple Crown. HARD on a horse doing six or seven straight races with not much rest in between. AND the race at Belmont is a ZOO. Out of control fresh horses thrown in there just to target the horse going for it. CC got hurt bad. Was out THREE months after. Scary. I wouldn't let my horse try for it. TOO HARD on a horse. SB wasn't racing at the time last year. He was out with some kind of health problem. He probably would have been a contender for the TC but he would have had THAT target on his butt and hurt bad. Not worth it. For Breeding purposes later yes..to up the Stud fee...but SB has nothing to prove there. He's a gelding. All he has to do is bring in the money racing.

@@RedBev59 Transit 8 correctly stated that he had a chance at LAST YEARS Triple Crown races. He would have STOMPED california donkey just like he did in the San Antonio handicap. Shared Belief is completely superior to california donkey in every aspect!

Why has Shared Belief not even been on the Hall of Fame finalist list since he became eligible in 2021. 4 years of a list of finalists include sure-fire first balloters like Zenyatta, Rachel, Pharoah, Chrome,Gun Runner, Tepin , Songbird, Beholder, Justify, Arrogate, and then the same group of names that are just coming up short headed by Kona Gold, along with Rags to Riches, Blind Luck, Havre de Grace, Game on Dude and Lady Eli. Shared Belief isn’t even making the list of finalists. I find that incredulous. I lived out in Southern California during what in retrospect was a period of incredible equine talent at the top levels of the sport. Many of the names listed above were from this period between 2010 and 2020 since when California racing has declined at levels and in all phases. But the talent during the 10s out here is almost hard to believe now. And Shared Blief was as good as any. All my buddies felt the same way. The Pocket Rocket was a freak. HisbHollywood Futurity win was one of the best Incan recall seeing a juvenile run on synth. He misses 7 months and wins the $500k Los Al Derby/Swapsnand 9f on dirt at Los Al and then effortlessly defeats his elders as well as Toast of New York in the gr1 Pacific Classicnat 10furlongs on synth. Then back to dirt this time at Santa Anita for another gr1 vs elders in the Awesome Again where Baffert team raced him and hung him out 6 wide the entire trip only to see his heart pull out a narrow win. His races at SantanAnitabwinerb14-15’ season were a testament to his versatility, talent and will to win. First, the gr1 Malibu at 7f. Then he beats Chrome in theb9f San Antonio,!and finally this devastating performance at 10f in the gr 1 Big Cap. He was 10 for 12 in his career, 8 graded stakes wins and 5 grade 1s. And his two losses he had obviously real excuses. The 2014 BC Classic when he was slammed twice out of the gate and the 2015 Charlestown Classic when he couldn’t finish the race due to a fractured hip. In the 10 races he was able to have a fair chance to win, he won almost as many graded and gr1 stakes as Gun Runner and Chrome did with many more starts. Yet, he is not even sniffing the Hall.!Absurd

He will be the next BCC Champion, by far...

American pharoah is the best horse ever. but this was such an amazing horse. it really saddened me to hear the awful news. wish he couldve stayed healthy or at least alive. thanks for some great memories shared belief. may you rip

+Tyler Diaz lmao american pharoah best horse ever??..only ran 11 times and was beat twice..so only 9 wins in career...pharoahs times of his races were avg too...please stop doing drugs..go look up zenyattas carreer..19 wins of 20 starts...only loss was by a nose..pharoah was an avg horse dude

joe crow you can't make the argument that AP best average at best horses if you say zenyatta when she beat the same group of dirt horses on an AW track.

+Tyler Diaz We'll never know who was better. I think Shared Belief is the only horse that could've given Pharoah a run for this money, and I don't know which horse would have won.

+Bigrosty44That`s hilarious...Pharoah was better than Shared Belief. Just what would inspire anybody to say such nonsense? Beyers, competition, times, weight....all were dominated by the Belief. Pharoah has yet to beat anybody?? and then retired. All those scratches in the Breeders cup, Beholder, Liam`s Map. Boisterous. almost like that race was not designed to give him a challenge. But Shared Belief has passed now, man this sport cant catch a break

SB has 3 weeks for the DUBAI race. This race was just to keep him fresh. This was a simple workout for him. Let him SB and CC kick some ass over there in DUBAI. Why go for $1,000,000 when you can go for $10,000,000. U do the math. Bayern got the BC money and is just relaxing because of a foot problem too.

Shared belief its a great horse,if theres its 1 horse who can beat him its gone be bayern.

??? I say Bayern, too. Chrome destroyed Bayern in the Preakness. Bayern couldn't keep up with ROC or anybody for that matter in THAT race. Derby and Preakness have like 19 horses racing. A lot of traffic . chrome does good because he breaks FAST and straight on up to where he wants to go right away.Have to break fast AND straight. Then sits there pacing. He lets loose on the final turn.

LLEGA SEGUNDO EL VENEZOLANO SANTIAGO GONZALEZ CON MORENO...............

Who's he running against? Moreno? He's allowance type. So is every other horse in this field. Lets see him run against Dortmund next out, or Honor Code.

MrWalto69 Only time will tell, but to say he hasn't beaten anyone isn't fair also. I can say, IMO he wins the breeders cup last year if Bayern ( who should have been taken down and wan't only because it was Bafffert at SA) Doesn't cause a chain reaction and take several horses out of the race when the gates opened. Lets see what he does do at the BCC in Keeland this year, because I agree with you, he needs to do it outside of California.

I don't want him to lose, i just want to see him out of california because people will keep going on about how his protected and is avoiding the harder races.

MrWalto69 I was referring to you but the person who said "who is he running against". Maybe not much in yesterdays race (although Moreno is a Grade 1 winner). But the last two races were against CC and The BCC. Again, I also would like to see the money not matter so much and just take on the best wherever, but in today's racing, most of the top horses try to make as much as they can and then aim for the BCC.

The competition didn't matter, the result would have been the same with any other group. Moreno, even though coming off surgery, got perfect internal fractions and it wasn't even close. As for going to Dubai, why bother when there going to make $10 million dollars running this year in n/a anyway.

To give the horse a chance to prove himself out of his comfort zone. Winning races here is nice but it's the same thing. Never leaves California. All it says is Shared Belief can beat horses in California. Why not a different state? His a great horse, take him out of California. His fans keep insulting California Chrome but at least the horse is not racing in just one state.

MrWalto69 Again I agree with you. But the other factor is the financial part for the owners. If the horse keeps racking wins up in these six figure purses, they aren't going to go anywhere until they have to for the BCC @ Keenland in November.I really don't think where he races will be a factor with SB, I think the isue down the road is going to be keeping jhim fresh because he is not a big horse and may wear down sooner than others. Zenyatta was not bothered by going to the dirt surface of the 2010 BCC @ Church Downs even though it was a nose loss to Blame.Should make for a Great BCC this year!!!

key West SUNSET I never understood this whole money thing. Yes, his a gelding but they should respect the horse more because it's not the owners who are going to cop the most heat. It's the horse, and i'ts not even his fault if his owners can't take a risk. She had all that dirt hitting in her face and given how far back she was, it's an amazing effort she got so close to winning. I think the only horse i can see at the moment that can challenge him is Honor Code. I really hope those 2 race. 2 horses who come from behind would be a great spectacle.

Who is he running against? Are you kidding me?! How about last year's Derby and Preakness winner and Horse of the Year California Chrome? How about G1 Whitney (one of the most prestigious handicaps in the U.S.) winner Moreno? "Allowance type"? Please read a few books on horse racing ......

WolfCreekCity I don't think SB destroyed CC.........CC ran him right down to almost the finish line and he stayed next to CC and was done until Mike gave him FIVE good hard whacks with his crop...then SB took off and won it by One length. Was a great race by both. His big test would be to challenge Bayern. SB is good but he'd never get past Bayern if Bayern has the lead. NOPE. Bayern cruises at a real high speed pace and he's got another gear in there if he has to use it. I've never seen a horse do what Bayern can do. IF he can get out and up front.

WolfCreekCity I wouldn't say he destroyed Chrome. I think Chrome got a little tired at the end and couldn't finish as strong as SB could. Destroyed is a little too strong of a word.

SB just cruised in this race. Stop making excuses trainer ship his ASS 2 Dubai. That is where the big money is. Trainer talking about keep him only in California. Little Competition Only Bayern and CC travel like true champions. SB foot is ok, let the horse be great. Sorry he is a gelding

SB is from KY so I'm surprised they don't race him out on the East coast here and there. OR in KY. WHY only in California. Anybody know why? YES....he should go to Dubai. He'd probably win.....???

SB probably doesn't handle shipping too good. Or flying. All the horses got off the plane fine in Dubai. Alan, Willie and Raul posted that he came off the plane happy to see them, bucking and playing. Yup, that's Chrome. He never gets bothered by anything new. Not a spook. He usually stands there watching and checking out what's going on. Takes it all in. He's a smart horse. And is easy to handle. Very used to being handled and trusts his handlers. So he'll get a Mrs Pasture cookie. :D

A sorry horse and a really lame competition. Overrated and gone.
