2015 Ford Mustang GT: Smiles Per Mile? Real World Review and Test

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Although this is not my first time driving a Mustang GT, this is the fastest car I've ever driven. But that's not what I do. In fact, that's not what most people do. So this is the review for all the non-track stars out there. I'll take a look a the Mustang GT as an experience for the everyday buyer.
As always, expect an unscripted, honest usable real world review.

Your review nailed it. Nice to see an average joe review this car. You get a better sense of the awe of driving it for the first time. I just bought a 2016 GT/CS four days ago and I still haven't stopped smiling. At 435 horsepower it is the fastest car I have ever owned and I've had some fast ones in my 52 years. This is my 5th Mustang and my 1st GT. The last one was a 2014 V-6 with 307 hp and I absolutely loved it. Of course my new one totally blows it away. If your a V-6 mustang owner and you're on the fence about trading for a GT I'm telling you, go for it! If you can afford it that is. My note almost doubled. Thankfully my insurance only went up about 30 bucks per month. I can't compare it or debate it vs. a Camaro or a Challenger as I haven't driven either of their latest offerings. I like them all and they all stack up pretty close anyhow. I'm loving this Mustang!

After having owned 3 Z-28's, Trans Am's and a 92 LX 5.0, I was ready for something different. After pining for an SRT Challenger, I went to a local dealer and they were total D bags. So, I went to Ford, drove the GT and fell in love all over again. I paid my $500 deposit and ordered the premium with performance pkg that morning. It should arrive in 3-4 weeks and I can't wait to start eating the SS 1LE's.

I have a premium and I definitely see the value in it. it puts the car in a whole nother level. if all you care about is raw power and speed on a budget the base gt is the car for you. me being older and working a high stressed job, wanted a car that's very refined. I like walking out after work and getting in my leather seats. I like walking up to it in the morning and seeing the ponies and the inviting ambient lighting. I like the cooled and heated seats especially in a long road trip and I love the smell and feel of soft leather. I owned bmws before and this car is awesome because it has the feel of an old Beemer, but the spirit of a muscle car. to be honest it feels like a really fast high end luxury car all for under 40k

All seasons are on the more affordable models(trims) because for many who buy the car it is there only car, and for many who buy the base unit they don't want to buy another set of tires. SO if you want summer tires go buy second set. You do understand that most base trims are sold to college student age people. Enthusiasts will buy PP or upgraded trims which many have summer tires , OR they plan to pull the tires for a custom rim anyway, this allows them to already have the winter set.

I traded my 99 Cobra which had IRS for the 2015 with performance pack. Hands down better in every way possible, yes us mustang fanboys are super happy. One thing I'd like to say is consider HP per liter. Mustang 5.0 is 87 Hp per liter as compared to 73 Hp per liter on the 6.2L Camaro. The dealer can ad a ford motorsport supercharger with 3 year warranty and you then have 637 HP. That coyote is badass!

The side profile killed it for me, so I went out and bought a '14, with the lowest miles possible. Many young folks also prefer the prior S197 - the more retro look. As for being shorter in height, there is a clutch pedal extender out there that will enable you to sit further back. The major problem for shorter folks like me is getting that long throw clutch all the way down. Thanks for the review.

Nardo Polo Good question. There are a lot of 3rd row choices out there, and from my experience they all tend to be priced fairly similarly for each particular category. I'm hoping to drive the new Ford Transit soon, that's the first one that comes to mind. The Focus platform means is a little lower in price and the tall roof means lots of space! don't get a v6 it's not worth it compared to better options like the ecoboost. the v6 has the 2 piston brakes, and the smaller wheels and tires, power wise it's decent but it doesn't have the potential of the 8 or turbo 4 because the market isn't embracing it. most people I've met who bought the 6 have traded for the 8 or is planning to. imho they aren't worth the money especially since they aren't much cheaper. a base gt or performance pack eco are the way to go, in terms of Bangladesh for buck. you NEED the 4 piston calipers as a bare minimum

Gallup Journey Test Drives Oh, ok. No problem, Greg. I was just kinda struck by that because, for example, I am a member of the Duke City Mustangs club, and it currently has about 300 members. Out of the 300, I have been to the track (both drag and "real" track) with at least 280-290 of the members - all in their respective Mustangs :-)

Arthur Sperotto That seems like a poor sample selection, don't you think? Anybody that goes out of their way to join a club for the car they drive is going to be a lot more likely to hit the track than owners of the same car but not in a club. Furthermore, most owners of Mustangs have a v6, which probably isn't too ideal for track use by any measure, though I may be wrong about that.

***** and? what does speed limit has to do with power? people who want a muscle want the power and sound coming out of the engine not some slow and silent car! at that makes the experience very good and fun!

***** think of it as why body builders want huge muscles or martial artist train hard. They rarely use it what they have in public, but it feels damn good knowing it's their just in case. Smiles per mile.
