What a ground breaking and breathtaking performance by all the artists. I am never tired of listening to this concert any no of times though I listened personally in Bangalore. I am 81 years presently listening from Chicago in my KZread. KZread is my Kuladeivam. I live in Bangalore very close to Chowdaiah memorial hall.

In last 2000+ years, we Indians have not learnt to lock the door once the concert starts, stay still. The casual walkers across the stage are reckless.

Buety full music Gopalnath is wery laker

My family moved to Bangalore from Seattle in 1999 and Dr. Kadri Gopalnath was recommended to us as a special entry to exploring Carnatic music. He is still my favorite. Thank you so much for sharing this. I hope next time I can be there in person!

I speak conversational Tamil with out living in TN, speaks Kannada, worked there, speak Konaseemic, Hindi & English, who am I ? Bharateeyata ❤️.

From Wiki: Film director K. Balachander used Gopalnath's services in his Tamil film . The film had music composed by A.R. Rahman and all the songs had saxophonic instrumentation by Gopalnath, mostly in raga Kalyanavasantam. He once said about this album: : "I played some 30 ragas for Rahman. He wasn't satisfied. Finally I played Kalyanavasantam, and he said, "Thats it!". After that movie I became known. I was in all the papers. It became difficult to travel in buses and trains. Of course I enjoyed the mass appeal." And here it is a treat to see him playing the Raga Kalyanavasantham from 32:29

It's amazing as to how Tabla artistes are able to follow the laya & adopt themselves to the main artistes & the mrudangist They do not have any knowledge of the lyrics at all . Despite that they are adopting themselves to the laya
