2015 Chrysler 200 vs Accord vs Fusion vs Camry vs Altima 0-60 MPH Mashup Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

( www.TFLcar.com ) The 2015 Chrysler 200 is all new. But is it a better mid-sized sedan than the Honda Accord, the Ford Fusion, the Nissan Altima or the Toyota Camry. Perhaps more interestingly is the 2015 Chrysler 200 faster than all of those best-selling sedans from 0-60 MPH. In another accurate, fun and informative TFLvideo review with mashup all of these vehicles with several different engines to determine if the new Chrysler 200 has what it takes to compete with the big boys in this very popular sedan class.

The new 200 is a great looking car, no doubt about it. But their reliability is already horrible. Countless electrical issues, random check engine lights, wheel bearings failing before 20k miles, and don't even get me started on the transmission problems. I hate to say it, but it makes me laugh when I see their TV commercials saying "Reliability is now an American thing" because in reality, it's the exact opposite.

What are you talking about? Lol.... the 200 has good reliability. A few people saying they have issues verses the thousands who say their cars are completely fine. There are Honda’s who’s transmissions fail and Toyota’s who’s engines stall, but no one says a thing. I know 3 people who have 200’s and they’re all going strong. 1 of them needed a new radiator after 85k miles but that’s it, no wheel bearings or check engine lights.

I bought a used 2013 200 Touring with the 4 banger with 11,000 miles. I'm up to 18,5XX and have no complaints, other than I wish it got better gas mileage. The outside looks great, and the interior looks and feels like it cost twice as much as it actually did. Really disappointed that Fiat is axing it to build more Rams and Jeeps. I was planning on getting a 2018 model in a few years. What a cluster of a decision. Fiat is delusional if they think these gas prices are going to stay where they are indefinitely, and when those prices go back up, and the truck/SUV market shrivels up again, what are they going to do? They'll have axed their best selling most fuel efficient vehicle to churn out more gas guzzling truck based vehicles. Stupid stupid stupid. They clearly have no long term planning, no foresight. All Fiat sees is immediate short term gains. I don't understand this business decision at all.

All of these pompous, antiquated remarks & opinions of anything that isn't "foreign" not being able to stand the test of time is terribly narrow-minded. In 10 years, it's very likely that ALL of these vehicles will still be on the road, simply due to the fact that this is 2014, not 2004 or 1994 when quality control was not Job #1 with American automakers. It's time to leave that old-school way of thinking behind. If you live in America, you don't have to support the home teams, but why slander them?

Don't be fooled, though, I priced one out on Ford's website for about $28,000 with the 2.0 Ecoboost, heated leather seats, and great looking wheels. I didn't bother with MyFordTouch because, honestly, I don't trust it. My point is, the Fusion isn't as overpriced as it seems.

I personally prefer a vehicle that is reliable, long lasting and economical. With that being said, If I had to choose using my money I would go with the Honda or Toyota. Nissan seems to have stayed the same and haven't upgraded their interior or exterior much over the years and it looks like they have invested in developing a more fuel efficient car and nothing else. I would say ford as well but I'm not convinced yet of their reliability and build quality, the new fords made in the past few years seem to be doing much better with quality and reliability. I would say ford is the most improved car company over the past 15 years and Chryslers overall quality is poor. Working at a tech shop I deal a lot with all of these cars and all have their unique problems but Honda, Toyota and Nissan are always the ones coming in with 150,000+ miles and the interior and exterior is still holding up and everything still works and drives almost like new. Chrysler overall by far seems to always have mechanical issues and the interior wears out extremely fast.

The 200 is a great looking car, and the Alfa Romeo Gulietta platform underneath makes it a decent handler too. But I don't have the trust of Chrysler's reliability, so I'll wait a couple of years first. The Accord is a good car, but almost as boring as the Camry, because every other person in the world who doesn't own a Camry owns an Accord. And I don't like that.

Accord, easily. Tramples all in the 0-60 and it is, afterall, a Honda. The Fusion would be my second choice, but I do not like the interior, the price, or its acceleration. The 200C would be my third choice here, but the styling will look ordinary in 6 months. The Accord's styling may be conservative, but it's timelessly handsome and it looks like it belongs in a class above. The Fusion looks great, but, for some reason, it still translates to "non-premium class" on the road.

It's a 4-cylinder Ecoboost, yet gets less combined mpg than the 6-cylinder Accord (and it probably has more speeds in the transmission which worsens it for Ford). It has AWD and 240hp, which should have made it competitive in 0-60, but the Accord wasted it, easily. And it cost $38k. Nothing about it makes sense, really.

The awd Fusion saps a lot of power, the reg fwd is much quicker. I have a Vbox and timed ours at 6.5 to 60 (good ol' sea level South FL lol). Have to say we drove all the cars in the class except for the new Mazda6, the Fusion was just the best overall, there's a solidness to it and fit finish that makes the Camry feel like a cheap tin can (same for Altima), and it rides way nicer and handles far better then the Camry (seriously that car was a pos, no wonder Toyota is rushing to update it after all the complaints online. My neighbor has only owned Camrys for like 20 years and thought everything else was crap, she went for a ride in our Fusion and blown away how much nicer all around the Fusion was. Accord was close, the V6 was quicker, but the Fusion was just so nice for the $, got the SE loaded. Accord was even missing the sporty character but it was the closest, Ford nailed the chassis and suspension on this car. Chrysler 200 don't care for so far, and odd that a new smaller, lighter car with a 9 speed auto basically gets the same mpg as the much larger and heavier 300 with an 8 speed auto and same V6.

+Trix Rabbit You are wrong. this car has been in the market for alot longer than you think. the 200 is only a re-named Sebring. Its what American car companies do. re-name their cars and just sell you the same crappy car. Like the Ford Escort became the Focus. The Contour became the Fusion. For Dodge, the Neon became the Dart. The Chevy Cavalier became the Cobalt and then to the Cruze so renamed 3 times to fool people that its a Whole new car.

Andreas Lie Really ? I didn't know. I only found out about the 125 HP one. To me it seems quite ridiculous to have a D segment car with such a tiny engine. I wonder how the reliability is in the long run. The Fiesta is the only one I would get is with the 1 ecoboost.

@Logan Yep, plus large engines are taxed very heavily by local governments, either on displacement or CO2. A Mustang GT costs about 5 grand a year in taxes and insurance. Plus, $6 a gallon gasoline. This is what happens when you vote left wing.

Chrysler will never be on top of anything but the unreliable list. They've sucked for years. They think this 1 car speaks for the entire company as a whole. A few people have a problem with a Toyota and they assume it's junk. Lol. Chrysler builds one halfway decent car and suddenly Everyone thinks they're the best! Lol!! They've changed hands from the Germans to the Italians. Chrysler is horrible in so many ways.

Oh, and Jeep Cherokee is on the not recommended list..sad..They're ranked horribly. They've been owned by Daimler, an independent group, the Nazis, and now Italians. Traded my POS Chrysler Sebring aka 200 23 mpg for the cheap $6000 off MSRP $18000 2014 Altima S 32mpgs my driving city and highway combined way more comfortable than the Sebring which I would imagine the same as the 200 couldn't be happier.. Apples and oranges here 6 vs 4 cylinder...I cant wait to take it out on the highway for a long drive and let it sip gas and sit back in my comfy chair.. I couldn't walk after driving the Sebring after a long drive...

I know about the rust we bought the car in NY and moved to florida If I stayed in NY I know that car would be rusted to death by now the metal just looked cheap..I tried the 0-60 in the Altima when I mash the gas it takes 9.ish but when I only hold it 1/2 throttle its faster and in the low 8s for 0-60...the transmission doesn't shift at wide open and there is a sport mode button that they could've used but didn't..I haven't tried the 0-60 with it but It seems like it would be faster....The 0-60 doesn't excite me anyways with these cars..It's a family car and I hardly ever put it to the floor.. But highway/city I am getting atleast 100 more miles per 16 gallons than my sebring... That I do know and THAT excites me....Good luck with your trade in...

Although it has roots in Japan, American Honda is an American company. Sure money makes it back to the parent company. But what large corporation with overseas assets isn't receiving money from their subsidiaries? They are businesses...While you're at it stop typing in whatever phone or computer you're using to access KZread.
