Well done Magali on the bass, keeping up the tempo for nearly 9 minutes !

Magali is a god!!! How can she keep up that tempo effortlessly and play killer walking lines nonstop with a smile on her face for this long??? I bet she could do it for a whole concert!!!

Again.......that bass player is so solid and accurate with the changes. A true treasure for this gang.

The beautiful Magali is certainly working overtime on the bass. Altogether a great version of a great tune. 👍🍷🎷🎼

Remarkable for sure - this is one hell of a teacher, he gets every drop from these kids and they sound many years ahead of their time.

This performance has everything. Joel is incredible, Joan is insane on the bari2 , the trombones were out of sight, piano solo was A plus, the tenors and Alto were incredible and Andrea’s voice and charm is always top notch .... AND the incredible bass player held it all together. Totally adorable face to boot. A Grammy prize for sure. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Back in the day I used to enjoy such a frenetic tempo but my right forearm would get really tight and tired. We didn't use amps and had to fill the dance hall with our instrument's volume. Magali has my sincere admiration for her playing, her stamina, and she keeps smiling.

andrea motis never sacrifices the note ... pays so much attention to it .. when she came to the vocals she stepped into the flasetto so confidently... shes a perfectionist.. and Joan Chamorro is the ultimate genius. Well done

the bass player is the ultimate driving force i have NEVER seen anything so incredible ...relentless driving bass runs totally fearless and awesome...

The stamina of Magali is amazing, chops to burn.......

The snap, the precision, the sheer joy! One of the very best SAJB cuts - and that’s saying a lot. Magali kills it on a 9 minute monster!

I am always impressed by the Magali's bass playing, as with all the soloists and ensemble, but more so with her. She really rocks that thing. Joan unleashing some Pepper Adams quality bari. Bravo

With all her fingers. Not once with her hand. She's actually on the know. Just felt in love with her and, mind you, I've told my missus with whom I'm married for 67 years.

I’ve heard many versions of this tune, many of them great, but this version kills them all. Great music, wonderful rendition. Gold star to magali for an exceptional bass line.

The one man jazz conservatory : Joan Chamarro.

Outstanding! Fantastic! They are all having too much fun! Best therapy there is for surviving a global pandemic. OMG ... what a monster band ... with Joel Frahm at his best. What great musicians ... every one of them! A brilliant arrangement of this 1938 Ray Noble big-band classic! Maestro Chamorro deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for repeatedly bringing so much joy into this sorry, suffering world. Just look at his body of work here on KZread alone. Everything is better with Joan Chamorro and the SAJB! Can't get enough. TY!

Trombone players face at 1:48 .... looks like he felt that one. That's classic 'stank face' when a musician hears something they really dig. Thanks Joan for being such a great mentor and bringing us this music to enjoy.

The way Andrea just gets up from playing Sax, grabs a trumpet and then comes and sings the last head. What a goddess.

I don't know how Magali could keep the pace and yet produce such brillant bass playing! Same with Esteve Pi. Great solo from Joel Frahm as well.

Loved the little cameo with Joan Codina and Rita Payes on trombones. It's small things like that which show these musicians love what they're doing and make it so much more enjoyable for us.

I like how all the young people here are obviously tuned into the energy of this performance, there really is hope for the future of jazz with dedicated players like these!

Maybe with the speed impressed to this execution Joan Chamorro wanted to test the capacity of the youngest players to keep the step at that crazy speed. Well, the did. All of them. But I must confess: the one that impressed me more has been the young and beautifuk Magali Datzira. She didn't look particularly impressed by the speed. Looking her face showing serenity, and her long fingers flying on th bass with such a ninchalance, was a real pleasure for me.

Joel always applauds the young sax players and I am sure they are inspired to even greater heights.

Five-star rating and ONE HUNDRED PER CENT SATISFACTION !!! I have played this video over and over again and never tire of it. I find something new to enthral me every time whether it be musically or visually. It has to be one of my all time SAJB favourites. I'm overwhelmed.

Just when you think it can't get any better this comes along! That bass player - out of this world, as a band they compete with ANY of the big bands of the past, superb, tight playing, and so much SMILING! This guy Joan has brought so much pleasure to their fans, and by the look of it the musicians as well. In these tough times they make me smile and shed tears of happiness at the same time. Bravo!

I’m out of breath! WOW!! What a barn burner!!! Besides the guests and the main quartet, I believe everyone here at the time of this video are teenagers with Andrea being the exception at twenty! Great solos by everyone, and Magali the Magnificent, The Iron Woman, there are no words!!!👏👏

So much talent on that stage! Very strong band, brilliant Rita and Magali, and there goes Andrea again--singing, playing sax and trumpet on the same song! Love it! Excellent Joel Frahm and Joan Chamorro, of course!

This is at the top of my list of favorite SAJB performances. Wow!

Sorry, Joseph from Arizona.. The pianist..Ignassi Terazza is totally blind.... Whatever he sees is already inside his mind.. In my opinion the best jazz pianist alive...and I'm a 77 yr old musician with a really keen ear..
