2015 Audi Q3 Flaws and Problems

The 2015 Audi Q3 is a great car, but nothing's perfect. I found some flaws and problems with the Audi Q3 that might get annoying in the long-term. These are not going to make or break a purchase decision, but they do add up for some buyers especially in comparison to the competition.

I was expecting actual problems! No pidantic BS because you haven't figured out how to configure the car!

  • @st88450
    @st884509 жыл бұрын

Keyless entry is configurable! Driver door only or all doors. By default driver door only. Done for security reasons. Go to your car settings and change it. Folding mirrors are also configurable. Seats memory is an option - you can buy it or not. Obviously you didn't. Read your manual, before making reviews. Otherwise it sounds pathetic.

Paul Brown Thanks for watching. I was very thorough but this was all I could find. Overall, the Q3 is just about one of the best affordable Audi's you can buy these days. Fully loaded, the maximum damage you can do is $42k in the US, which may sound like a lot for some but the Q3 is a great car for the money.

I don't understand why there are so many dislikes for this video. Indeed this is a great car. In my opinion, it is the best in this class. However, there id a difference between judging a car based on performance and it's behavior day to day. These flaws don't seem obvious unless you actually use them for a considerable period of time. Having said this, one would get used to these (like ORVMS, Sun Shade and central locking) , so in the long run, these won't even matter because finally in the end of the day, you have one heck of a car!

I've had my arctic white Q3 now since September 2016, from new. I find the centre console with phone cable really annoying so I connect my phone via the Bluetooth for music and got a separate charger to charge it that isn't in the console! The glove box is soo small! I also have a BMW Mini .... the glove box is so much bigger. There is a distinct lack of storage throughout the Q3? I also find that the door bins/pockets are far too skinny & small. Lack of cup holders!? Nice looking car... smart.... but in all honesty I don't think it knows what it is!

I had a 2016 Audi Q3 Prestige, and believe it or not even though for the 2016 model year getting a very mild refresh inside and out, from your Q3 to my Q3 I really don't see much of an improvement over the flaws you mentioned. There were still no rear door sensors on mine, the cargo net was exactly the same, the sunroof and sunshade was exactly the same, no extra usb ports, same rear vents, no memory seating, same power folding mirrors, same rear door lock, basically my Audi was almost identical to yours, with the exception that mine has the LED fog lamps integrated into the headlamp assembly, where your fog lamps were in the lower portion of the bumper, and about the garage homelink, it is actually considered to be an optional accessory feature, my Audi was equipped with the black cloth headliner and garage homelink package, so I guess your Audi was missing that accessory package. Another flaw you failed to mention which really bothered me a lot too was, how you could not power close the trunk from inside of the car, you can only press a button to power open the trunk from inside the car and not power close it, same with the remote keyfob, you can't power close it from the keyfob, the only way to close the hatch was to press the button on the hatch itself. Also another gripe was the lack of ventilated seats. Other than that I really enjoyed it, it is very comfortable and fun to drive, great in the winter time, never got stuck once in 3 years of ownership so far.

You can close both the sun roof and the sun shade automatically from outside just by holding the lock button from the car key..and the folding mirror is just a matter of 0 to 1 software update yet audi is not activating just for some annoyance to us...

Great review, I feel you gave a great perspective as a parent as well. I feel the lack of vents in the back is not suitable for a child in a car seat (especially rear-facing) and the lock issue. I also didn't see an area in your review to place sunglasses either. That would annoy me as well as the garage door opener. Thank you for your insight!

Honestly no car is perfect but you were a little too nit picky. For the price, year and the class the car is in I think it’s a great buy. Stupid points like that are not really going to concern anyone. After all it’s not a Q5.

Before you make a review we (KZread users) would appreciate if you do a research prior to your comments. You cheaper out on Full KeyLess access package. So neither of the rear doors even have proximity sensors inside the handles. Prestige is not Premium.. you get what you pay for!

Rear doors, even on prestige, don't have keyless capability. Same goes for the A3. Most prestige trim models are order only. I know because I've ordered three prestige Audi models from 2014-2017.

I am actually looking to buy a Q3 and I found this video pretty helpful. it is absolutely true that these small things make a difference and you only notice them after having and using the car for a while. I appreciate the video. I am actually surprised it had so many 'thumbs down' reviews.

+Anthony Ng The Q3 is still fun but it's just a few grand shy of the Q5. I'd get a Q3 if it had more power because it's a fun size. The Q5, however, is the more luxurious option. I'm not saying the Q5 overshadows the Q3. There are instances where the Q3 is better. The Q3 is easier to park in the city. The Q3 has more rear seat headroom than the Q5. The Q3 has a cool layout for the center console.

+Raymond Adams I have 2 A3 sedans and they have the same door handles on the front and rear, but only the front doors work for leavers. For a $47k 2017 prestige, I'm not picky. My A6 has working sensors on the rear door. So it begs the question. Are the A3 and Q3 models "real" Audis?

These are more complaints of course. But truly I agree in general that these bum-a$$, full of themselves, German car companies who think they can charge a ridiculous amount for their cars without the commensurate features reliability and especially, warranty, is absurd. Ironically I just bought a 2017 Q3, ONLY because I got a GREAT deal on a low miles one and the Q3 happens to have a 5 star reliability record (which is rare for any German car). On another note, anyone notice this guy's physical size? I mean I think he needs more like a Q7. Just sayin.

oh man as much as i do like the German exterior design . as i hate how they wrapped their head up their As$$. getting busy showing off their intelligent. to the point it's showing them as of inconsiderate stupid careless for details and arrogant asking too much for product that you really wish never get broken somewhere .. where no body will be able to fix it. in the end a brand new German cars products you buy it expensive and then sold cheap undesirable car to buy used no value to it!! and they are getting away with it . what an advertisement strategy ?! the same opinion go for BMW. and Mercedes Benz . VW !!

I think I understand what you're saying, but nothing is made to a standard anymore. More things are made for global markets, but nothing is made like a w123, w124, and w126 Mercedes anymore. But as far as some cars, at least you can tell which ones are made for a lease payment and low insurance costs rather than a true reflection of the "brand."

I will give you the fact that yea is a bit annoying on some placement of thing and features that have you work with KOEO or KOEO only. Said 1st world problems since he had a whiny tone and what do you expect from an entry model which is design to bring some luxury at a low price. Did agree with him about the rear vents being small, but once agai. Small vehicles have weird positions and placements.
