Just did this on my 2012. Your video was super helpful! Been smelling coolant for months. Finally started dripping so I could find leak. Got it all hooked back up and of course top hose is leaking. It also feels loose though. Doesn't sit tight like bottom hose. Going in the morning to get new seal. The seal isn't the white part is it? Goes behind it? I'm not best mechanical person, but I was able to do this without disconnecting the ac lines! Lol

PowerStroke Tech Talk w/ARod just finished the job, adding coolant right now and checking for leaks, etc. so you can do it with out disconnecting the condenser, just unbolt and pull it away, it’s a pain in the butt. But once that was done I was able to fish the primary radiator out of the truck and install the new one.

Aw c'mon man getting to that second petcock is easy as pie, you just have to fire up Autocad and boom done, just ask the engineer! When every I have to do a rad pull I have a 1/4 of one of those big square plastic totes that they use to transport oil, chemicals etc in that I cut down so basically just is one of those big totes cut 3/4 off. I just slide it under the rads and let it drain in there, dump it into a pail and then dump the rest in with the other used coolant for the recyclers . No mess and easy as hell to clean up. Nothing wrong with your method of removing the rad, you can give ten guys the same job and guaranteed you will see guys do different methods that they think is best for them. Nothing wrong with that. What I find funny is how many 6.7 owners have no clue that there is two radiators in the truck, I swear it's like they never looked under the hood or truck. I am still not a fan of the plastic on the rads, just doesnt last long IMHO but thats a rant for a different day, nice work as usual man.

Having to change a radiator at 117k miles is BS! Im about to change out my primary at 167k miles, all highway miles, for the same exact reason. Drivers side gasket is busted. My Dad is retired Ford Tech, I was at his house a couple days ago when I seen the dripping on his driveway. First thing he said, "Crawl under there and see if its dripping off the side of the Radiator.". Sure enough, first thing I see is it dripping off the bottom corner of the drivers side, right behind the petcock. Took a picture, showed it to him, and he says, "Yup, the gaskets they use to joint the plastic tank to the aluminim fin body ALWAYS fails." He said 9 out of 10 times, when a truck came in for a coolant leak, this was the culprit. $600 per radiator is insane, when Ford KNOWS this is an issue. I wont be able to change it out for another week or two, so Im sure Ill blow another $100-$200 on coolant before I can get the radiator changed out. These trucks are so expensive, we shouldnt be having to deal with nonsense like this. I wish I didnt have to drag a trailer around all over the midwest, or I would go back to driving my 92' f350 crewcab LB. I completely rebuilt the 351 and the c6 in it, but it still doesnt have the power and the gas milage my 2016 6.7L does. Its just a toy now.
