I can't believe I waited again another year for this..... A 3 seater come on!!!! Guess I will leave a kid at home! I jumped ship after well over a decade of Yamaha ownership to Kawasaki, Teryx4 , awesome machine!
Don't give up on Yamaha! Utility SxS make up a larger portion of the market (66%) than the sports due. This is Yamaha's first step to getting back into the industry, now they are gonna release something new each year for the next five years. It may not be this year but, the sport will be here soon!
I got to drive it already. It's pretty cool. Lots of room good power. The eps was great. There will be more models coming.
Really diggin the grizzly type front end
Best side by side bar none for a work and hunting machine. Not an off road racer. This is a GREAT vehicle for it's intended use. And being much wider than a Rhino is a huge plus. Granted, this is not a trail machine so to speak, won't fit on certain restricted trails for sure. Maybe a great ranch hand. You want a racer get the Polaris:-)
Donde se encuentra el vin de chasis
I like it front end looks sweet
I like it. I think if you put bigger tires on it it will look even better. The thing has huge wheel wells so you could put some pretty big tires on it.
The drive train may not know the meaning of quit but it shakes in fear when it hears the word Polaris lol
That's exactly what I thought as well.
Does it have a horn on it
700 cc is pretty good, just bought 700fi rhino and will do 70km/hr unloaded and around 50-60 loaded
500 characters was not enough to voice my total displeasure with Yamaha. Previous to my 2004 rhino purchase I had several Yamaha products perform without issue. My cousin still has his 2004 & also has many of same problems...so my experience was not isolated. The thing is so noisy compared to the 3 Polaris Rangers I have since purchased that I can't stand to ride with him anymore. Have had minor issues with 2 of my Rangers (overheating) but overall I am very satisfied...so much more versatile.
Now that you guys have a hard working side by side wheres your pure sport to compete with the maverick and razr xp?? I cant wait forever..
Please Please Please dont quit the UTV market if this thing tanks. Make a sport one with 100hp. I dont want a Polaris but this is pushing me there!!
Yamaha must have a vikings fan in the developing department!!!

if that was true why doesn't it come in purple?
Yamaha has always been about reliability and maintaining customer satisfaction. The last time they were about speed in this field of recreation was the banshee days. If u won't speed, buy something else. If you won't dependability, reliability, and a flat out investment....buy a Yamaha.
Seems like the new Honda UTV already has this one beat, four seats and better looking.
spewing with the width. u have to make a V.twin 1000cc in a 2 seater
Why not just get a a utv with a crew cab if you wanna carry a bunch of ppl I have a ranger 800xp and I usually ride alone when I'm on it
Nolan Graves bad thing the envy eh?
Yamaha better have a sport side by side in the works!!.. That's for syre
even at what its built for, the honda pioneer seems better. Everyone was hoping for a pure sport sxs like a rzr or maverick. First the yamacat sleds and now this???
If you want to walk back to the truck go buy a one of those 101hp models... I only seen 2 on the trail and they both were broke. lol. tried and true is Yamaha and Honda. Once they fix there mistakes Yamaha will release a model to impress.
Polaris and can am are killing the market right now, need to do domething better
4:50 unless you want to pick rocks ;)
it has more compression and can keep up to a 800 can am v-twin up to 60 mph in the new 2014 yamaha grizzly... not that bad for a single cylinder 700 class atv... not a 800 or 850 or 900 or 1000.. lol yamaha doesn't need huge displacement. if you want that throw a nytro motor in a blown up 660 rhino and have fun!!! not to mention kill every rzr and can am and acrtic crap around
You know I feel worse for my dealer than us riders. My dealer is the most awesome business I've ever dealt with and all I've ever owned is Yamahas. I have literally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars there. Three of us were waiting to go up there today and tell them to order us 3 new sport Yamaha SXS's . Three of us are now driving to the Polaris dealer 50 miles away to get RZR's instead. We have a choice but you are killing your dealers with this garbage you are putting out.
how is it a step back?? it has more seats, better ride, power steering, more compression in the 700 engine and it has a usable box. Sounds good to me for WORK. at least it wont be sitting in the repair shop as much as the rzr, commander or wildcat.. yamaha has reliability. something no other manufacturer cares about. yeah they all can go faster, big deal... comparing yamaha ssv's to others is just stupid anyways..
Anyone contemplating a Yamaha sxs...Don"t!!! I realize there have been improvements but I purchased a 2004 Rhino (new) and had numerous problems and Yamaha failed to stand behind any of them. Gas spilling out the fuel cap, failed rear brakes, engine braking failed, choke failure, poor design of air intake led to needed ring job, emergency brake allowed ability to move vehicle while engaged resulting in overheating & fire, backing up with tailgate down and bed raised caught tires & cracked. JUNK!
Couldn't they have chosen a better name?
what are you supposed to compare this too...a 500 Ranger...ok..it wins...maybe..kinda...but come on...if your gonna come out with some new...you have to head for the top of the heap...compete with the Ranger 900hd...which beats it all over..payload by 400lbs..towing by 500lbs...engine by 200cc....lock and ride accessories...this is like saying "Hey...lets shoot for 3rd...5th best..we are ok with that"...lame!!!
its not uglier than the big red
Looks like another 4 wheeler with a tiny bed to justify buying it for "work" at least this one gets a steel bed. Trail suspension over a hauling suspension and 700cc+ engines are not made for work. For people who really want something to get the work done that they can depend on without having to fill it up every day the Kawasaki Mule beats out everything else and cheaper.
Kawasaki all I gota say
Still just 700 cc, really? Still sounds like a turd to me. That engine is great in the grizzly but this thing is way heavier.
I purchased my first Yamaha back in 07 and I was a true rhino fan but now i have just lost interest in the utv. I'm know driving a five seat sandrail bye bye Yamaha!!
Yamaha is so bad my local dealer is selling them chinese benche machines.yamaha wont make anything to beat the compitition
overpriced - underpowered SOHC 700cc? Can't believe that yamaha has given the SUV market away- Continued congratulations and success to CAN AM, Artic CAt and Polaris! for giving S X S owners what they want! 90% of the markey wants a sport machine, not this one. New Name- The brontosaurus turd!
WOW... ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS!!! Just lost a long time Yamaha fan!!!
And yet again Yamaha is simply watching the competition just literally run them over!! FAIL!!!!!
Yeah its cool but they replaced the fucking rhino!
Such a disappoint yamaha
Good job Yamaha! You have made on of the ugliest side x side, I have ever seen!
ugly ugly ugly..............
viking is a stupid name, the cab is far too big, bench seats, still a small bed, and is the ugliest sxs on the market, yamaha needs to get there act together. HUGE FAIL. Rhino is far better than this, went a step back in my opinion.
I'd have to say too that this is just as damn ugly as the Teryx. Rhino is much better. What was Yamaha thinking? I bet it's one of those Linhai Chinese crap machines that's got a Yamaha sticker on it.
Ugly just like the ranger ...and its still slow come on Yamaha
