    Sorry but, i know that Oberst is a freaking giant of a man (2 meters, more or less), but how can even be possible that he's 203cm when Hafthor is greatly taller than him (they said he's 2cm taller than Robert?) Are they kidding me?). I think that Obie should be 10cm shorter than him, at least. However, the intro, where all strongmen are posing, speaks for itself. Sorry for my bad english.

    Overall Thor is amazing but he is not that impressive on static exercises. He still got a lot of time to envolve but right now Shaw and Zydrunas are better than him on the deadlift, Squat and other classic moves. Thor is fantastic on events that needs more of an athletic performance.

  • @Jeudaos

    @Jeudaos

    Is that why Bjornsson took 2nd in 2014? Because he's, not, more powerful then Shaw? I mean obviously Big Z is absolutely insanely strong on the main power lifts. However Bjornsson is nearly as strong, but FAR more explosive and athletic than bog Shaw and Big Z are now. Just judging by the last two years, and this year.

  • @renanSRSC

    Wodinn. Iam repeating myself but what iam trying to say is that overall Tor is better than Shaw but right now, in some lifts, he is just not. Shaw was better than him in squat for example, one of the most classic moves and iam almost sure he would beat Tor on the deadlift. The thing is, Tor is just getting better while shaw seens to have reached a peak. Yes he took second place because he is amazing athletically but in pure strenght still not the best. Take mariuz for example, won world strongest man five times and never was in top three in the arnold classic, a pure strenght event most of the times having the classic static lifts (like the squat that Tor lost by far against Shaw.

    Renan Santos i think WSM is more suited for Thor, due to the movement focused nature of the events. But things like the Arnold Strongman Classic, which is based around heavier implements for shorter distances, are the types of thinggs Thor struggles with.

    ..it's a lot more competitive now..well never see a four time winner again.. ..the sport attracts a lot more talent now..not like on the ,,80s n 90s where it only would take a couple few years of intense training of course w some genetics ..but now it takes both plus a lot more training like ten years..unless we have some new genetic freak like a hafthor or shaw..and even then it takes ,ten years of training ..what hafthor thrsined for almost a decade before he won..

    ..that double dip rule is B.S. .. ..these guys are lifting heavy weight and putting their whole bodies into it..it should still count as a lift...that's the most mamby pamby crock of shit technicality I've ever heard of .it really is enough to hurt the sport and lose interest and make people drop out of the competition..

  • @bryanadkins2944

    @bryanadkins2944

    Жыл бұрын

    Oh shut up. I compete in strongman...do you? The reason you're not allowed to double dip is because the Viking Press is meant to be a test of pure upper body strength. When you allow the double dip it turns into a more technical lift like a push jerk or split jerk.
