    My Cayman S is the most fun car I've ever owned! That includes a 2005 Maserati Coupe and a 2000 Viper. The mid-engine set up is brilliant and the 7-speed dual clutch PDK transmission is light years ahead of the Ferrari single dry clutch set up my Maserati had (new clutch every 12,000 miles). I can afford a 911 but I chose a Cayman S for a couple of reasons, number 1 being it looks so much better!

    You forget to factor in the fun of driving stick! It's wayyy more exciting to drive a sports car slamming in the gears..feeling more in control... It's the best feeling of driving a sports car!

    Great question and there is no easy answer. Bang-for-the-buck, you have to buy the C7. 460hp for $54K. Best handling car, it's the Cayman S. Street cred, it's either the BMW M4 or Cayman S. It really depends on budget and how you plan on driving it. The M4 is amazing with the exception of the annoying artificial sound being pumped in. The only car on the list that would always end up 4th is the Lotus because we wouldn't trust it on the road or at resale value. Finally, when the Corvette Z06 comes out later this year, game over.

    You are missing one of the best options you can get in the Cayman, the Porsche Sport Exhaust. It sounds incredible with the Sports exhaust.

    It's safe to say porsche is not interested in the typically buyer. The price point speaks for itself.

  • @Jacob-xd3ko

    Let's be honest. People buying a new Porsche most likely have the money to add all of those options and do not care about the expensive add-on's.

    Freaking ridiculous, Porsche! Starts at a reasonable $55k but then charge us an arm and leg for every tiny options. $95k is way too much. God luck finding a base Porsche.

  • @justinnguyen3091

    Nobody walks into buying a Porsche at the base price. If you do that with ANY car you'll probably end up failing unless it's a civic or corolla. If you can barely afford the base don't buy it. Buying a Cayman I'd at least have 70 grand just for the car and an extra 2K for repairs that will happen over time.

    I test drove a manual transmission one but I didn't like it. Ride was very bumpy. It felt heavier than its stats, heavy steering wheel, heavy pedal. No push button ignition, no backup camera and of course no Apple carplay

  • @redbxstr

    mrpmj00 different strokes for different folks. I’ve owned 7 Porsches and this 981 with 6 speed is the best. Who gives a crap about push button start or Apple Radio. Are you serious? Go buy a Kia. Lol

  • @hanellipsis

    @hanellipsis

    No kidding... you're looking for the wrong things in the sports car market. Rather petty creature comforts. The heavy steering is for feedback. The ride quality is not related to the gearbox. And Porsches before the Taycan are known to not have push button start. And why do you need a backup camera on this small a car? Learn the car's geometry and sightlines and you're fine.
