    Honestly I don't care who is commentating as long as someone is commentating

    I LOVE Ragan Smith. Her gymnastics is amazing and she seems like a good person all around. I also love SJSs' floor

    Sam Peszek is awesome. It's so nice not having to hear Tim Daggett say "wow" or "state of the art" or "like out of a cannon" or "her toes are just wrapped around that beam."

    I like Evan and Sam. They both have wonderfully insightful things to say other than "Nice release skill" or "That'll be a deduction" or "You know, I was talking to so and so about this gymnast and she said..." unlike certain OTHER commentators. Their commentating is a good example of how to be critical and insightful without being unpleasant and overdramatic. They're both still a little unpolished and haven't quite found a rhythm, but give them some time and they'll find it. I like how Evan points out things that most US commentators ignore, like the artistry and presentation of a routine, the form breaks on otherwise hit skills, and the actual names of skills. Good stuff.

    BBC commentators are like that as well. I was watching past Olympics and World Championships, and the Brits are so much better to listen to! I LEARNED from them as well, and they can really dissect style differences between countries instead of saying plainly it's a style difference. They also say, "A job well done," to all who put in a good effort.

    Who produced this? Was it USAG or was there an outside producer? Because this was very poorly done as far as audio goes. For the majority of the first rotation I had my volume all the way up so I could barely hear them, then sometimes there was no audio and it cut in mid-way through a conversation between the commentators...did anyone take credit for the mishaps here?

    I don't like that the commentators talk thru all of the floor routine. sometimes what their saying isn't even information pertaining to floor. and why do ex gymnasts constantly have to bring up their past glory and their teammates past glory and their mothers boyfriends past glory? Mentioning your accomplishments once will suffice. At least the content of what they were saying was good, but like a good book with bad editing, please say less.

    To be honest, I hope Delaney doesnt end up like Jordyn. Having a stellar junior career and a great first year as a senior but then gassing out when it really matters.

    Well the youngest junior I know of is Olivia Dunne, 11 years old. So 11-15. Gymnasts can turn senior at 16 years old.

    i don't like the commentators they don't even talk about mast of the routines going on and their was a really low vault and they were like...."that was really good hight " it was a good vault but the girl was small so i don't blame her its hard at that hight ! but come on she was a silver medalist ...we need gold medalist so she knows what she is taking about ......what about NASTIA!! and who is the guy he seems like he isn't even talking about any of the routines. the people who pick the commentators seamed to me to be a little desperate!!!!

    Yeah thanks I know that already. Didn't expect slang in commentary though. Give people a chance to learn the names of the moves. The general public know too little about the sport as it is. At least, in the UK tthey do.

  • @ems31484

    @ems31484

    Amy Bradburn It's not really "slang," though. "Flip flop" is an official (and more commonly used) name for that skill. Or, if you're in the UK, it's usually called a "flic-flac." BBC commentary is much better than NBC commentary, but "flip flop" isn't slang.
