The goal of oration is not winning the competition but sending a powerful message to the people

Relaxation and being yourself are two keys to good oration. I need to improve on pronunciation and clarity, which are also important. I struggle with these two aspects even though I was born speaking English from the beginning of my life..

I will be participating and oratorical competition tomorrow. I have the least trainings out of all the other contestants because of my busy schedule. But I will surely do my best and leave the rest to the Lord ^___^

That speech was perfect!

Oration in 2014 is a bit too rehearsed. Even the hand gestures seemed too practiced. This young man did a brilliant job though. This was the standard then.

I have a speech competition, and we won't be using microphones, which means i have to shout to be heard well, but i only want to be calm.

+Konijiwa Mahito Pretty sure that in Impromptu, you get around and if not exactly 7 minutes for preparation time. Extemp. is longer and more limited to social/political issues either specific to the US or worldwide. I'd double-check if I were you.

The word "our" according to Webster's has two pronunciations one is /aeUr/ the other /är/

I hate this silly, overused finger gesture at 0:48.

Personally, I feel this was far too rehearsed. Rather than a passionate oration, it was a well-performed recital.

While his words are wonderful, however, his presentation was not anything to be admired. I encourage him to continue his craft, but his delivery is elementary. I'm surprised that his oration is considered worthy of national recognition.

Like he is speaking to a kindergarten class. Overpronunciation in US English is sickening.
