The car was not that horrible to drive,but alonso has an interesting driving style where he shunts the car,problem is that car didn't had good stability,kimi didnt struggle that much with stability but more with pace

It is. But Fernando have a very distinct way too drive car, he actually enjoy cara that can fly into corners without brake too hard and manage the over/understeer. Not like that, obviously.

Props to Fernando that season. He outperformed the car.

@@ciaronsmith4995 2011 was a shite car bro you cant expect to outdrive every car men in 2013 he did that to and in 2012 and dont dont forget 2008 were he one with an bang average Renault two races in that season in a row dont forget it. See Vetel he had an bang average car in 2020 he did fuck all in compare to Alonso in 2014 he accieved more then him. And 2014 Vettel just with 6 more points could beat Alonso in the WDC with an much better car then him they were second in the WDC second and Ferrari fourth!

@@ciaronsmith4995 2004 is wrong he were stable their in the Season come on their Car wasnt that bad either and not that good either so not true in 2007 he nearly won the World Drivers Titel that season. In 2009 he did outdrive that shite of a car he scored an second place with an dogshit car come they were so draggy in the straight and so slow in the corners in 2011 i wouldnt say you are right he was just average given his Car was like that but he still Out drove it in some ways only 2015 was a year he did not to much.

Only the great Alonso can handle such terrible machinery.

All corner he had to take back that car, absolute difficult to drive.

Alonso went on to admit that the 2014 Ferrari was the worst car he's ever driven. Quite a shock when hes driven awful cars such as the 2001 Minardi & 2009 Renault.

2001 minardi is an merc w11 to ferrari f14-t

The balance of that car was mortifying. This was actually painful to watch.

What makes me chuckle is that Ferrari compromised the power unit in order to make the car as aerodynamic as possible. And this was the result. An underpowered, overweight, thirsty powerunit, with poor driveabilty (clearly shown here); coupled with a chassis which by the looks of it, was no better than the 2001 Minardi.

I know I'm 3 years too late, but the car wasn't underpowered. They're straight line speed was the best after the Mercedes, but the car was such a wreck through the corners, even though they tried to make it better round the corners (ironically they tried the same thing this year and yielded even worse results). I guess that's what happens when Italians try to produce high downforce cars.

@@silentnight1805 maybe you missed races like Bahrain that year where they got overtaken by everybody. Their straight-line speed wasn't the best after mercedes at all

@@terkmadugga Yes it was. The car would fight the Williams, Force India and Mclarens. And Bahrain is a mixed track, it's not a pure power track.

Fernando and Max are probably the only two drivers on the grid who can handle such difficult cars. If Alonso had stayed on with Ferrari he probably would have atleast 2-3 more WC to his name, especially in 2018 and 2019

2019 Ferrari wasn't title contender. Perhaps he could do well in 2017 and 2018, But probably wouldn't be world champion

No. The SF1000 is way worse. Super draggy, horribly slow round corners, tractor on the straights. Just a shit car all round. This car had decent power, but was an absolute joke round the corners.

No he's at %100 throttle when he goes flat out it's just a minor fault in the telemetry misreading what is actually 100% throttle as 98 or 99% throttle.

Yes but the rear sliding wasn't Kimi's issue. Kimi had way too much understeer for his liking in this car. It was understeer on entry on steroids and snap oversteer on exit. Alonso is pushing here. Kimi couldn't even push he said the front end of the car felt "numb". So this car suited Alonso more than Kimi, even though the car was terrible.

"Suited Alonso" LOL look at how much he has to fight and reel it in. This car was undrivable and stop making excuses for Kimi. At the end of the day, even with this piece of shite car, Alonso still brought 161 points to the team vs Kimi's 55 points--almost 3x!
