Never would have figured out that’s where the air filter was and how to get to it without your video. Thanks!
I have the CTX700 with the fairing. Both of these bikes are easily some of the worst vehicles to change the air filters on! Great video!
Thanks-a-million for taking time to do such a thorough video of the air replacement process - you da man!
Thank you for a nice detailed video ... you made changing my air filter easy!
thank you for making this video buddy, really appreciate it.
Great work and super generous. Thank you so much for helping me get this done. Super generous!
Thank you for a very helpful video.
A drum brake spring tool works great for installing the springs- just hook the springs on the stand loop and than use the spring tool on the stud end like you would a brake spring, mine popped right on.
The Corbin replacement seat is very comfortable for this bike.
Great Video! Thank you.
Nice video....could talk about changing out your foot pegs to those floorboards. They look like a huge improvement. Thanks
Thanks!! Not to bad! My wife has a CTX700 w/7300 miles so I’ll wait.
Thanks for a great video

My pleasure!
Excellent.
Thx for the video. What is the model of those footrest ?
Great instructional video! I have an 2014 myself black with the bags like yours. Love it! How about changing the coolant?? And there has got to be an after-market air filter mod that is easier than the OEM???
Mate, brilliant. Thank you. There are so few videos about this model of Honda. Tiny suggestion: maybe add to the title of this video or even post another one about JUST removing the fairings? There's a ton of fixes that involve taking them off but hardly videos on how to do just that. I need to remove them cos, like a compete twat, I dropped the bloody thing and so need to remove gas tank fairings so they can be repaired/replaced. Honestly, hardly any videos showing people how to do it. I think you'd get a ton of hits and likes etc. Thanks again.

@@DownOnTheRangeFL Aaah, bollocks. Oh well. Mate, if you add "remove fairings" to the title of this video, you'll get a load more hits. You've already done the video so noting more than a simple title edit. It was really helpful and I'm sure others will think so too. Thanks again.

WwRGSwW nice one, mate. Take care 🙌🏼🏍
Nice video! I prefer doing a valve adjustment over changing the air filter on these bikes! Can't think of another bike I would say that about?
changing coolant?
How did you remove the ctx letters? Thanks
I have a heck of a time getting the paniers off.
Nice job on this 👏 👍 video, give info on Footboard s my 🏍 is black also. Thx
I replaced the filter with an aftermarket brand and now it’s running lean??
Any tips on how to remove a seat? Mine seems to be stuck in place on my 2014 CTX700 with 10K miles. Thanks!

steve thompson I always turn the key with one hand and then give the seat a good hit towards the back on the ridge. They pop right off

I know this is an old thread but for anyone else I put Honda Goldwing rear passenger boards on my sister' red CTX 700 DCT . I have a Blue manual CTX. You have to get an adapter ( which my Honda dealer had along with the footboards) . Now I forget the number on the adapter s BUT the Honda dealer should be able to set you up with the right ones to fit the boards and the CTX.

@@williamjohnson6517 Great, can you please post more info on them if you can find....Thx
How often are you suppose to change the air filter ?
Great video, top view is nice. How long did it take? 1 hour?

My old BMW K75 - you could see the filter above the engine and 3 buckles locking it dow - 5 min? Nope they make it so the gas tank had to be lifted up and the radiator removed! This is kind of burried but it could be much worse.

They are the stock Honda ones.
Any objections to putting a tracker somewhere inside the air filter compartment??

I am doing the coolant change, the valve adjustment and the air filter for the next 3 days ! Probably plugs too (plus the usual chain adjusts, oil and filter change) Taking my time! That way I'll be ready for spring. (I'm in cold Canada). If anyone has gone this far in the fairing removal, why not stick a tracker amongst the guts of this machine. No thief will ever get to it !
What? You got all the way in there and didn’t change the coolant and do a valve adjustment?
I have a CTX with the fairing . I'm all about maintenance . I also have two HDs. BUT getting to this air filter is absolutely B/S . I've been told by a Honda dealer that the Goldwing is the same and most owners give it a miss. I'm thinking the same ( I don't want to) I even have a K+N to put into it BUT I'm not Stripping the whole bike to put a air filter in . Honda really didn't want anyone to get to this bitch.

Yea it wasn’t fun. I just hate cheap plastic clips.
I went and checked this bike out in person and I was sad to see that the plastics on this bike are the cheapest, flimsiest I have ever seen. It keeps weight low, but also makes the bike look like a toy.
Honda really made this a pain in the ass. Shame on them. My Suzuki C50 takes all of two minutes to change the air filter.
Would be nice in any video they would really and truly show US how to really do this 😭
Horrible design by Honda. How much does the dealer charge as I would not attempt this myself? I really wanted to purchase the bike but this may be a major drawback.

Any of these chain-drives are a joke to get to the air filter, and others besides this one are a joke to change the plugs.
Already got the seat off, nothing special there.... that's why I came here... to get the seat off, yeah... I'm that guy.

Haha sorry, one of my other videos I think shows how I got the seat off. Turn the key, lift up with one hand, then give it a love tap (towards the back) right at the ridge
this video through no fault of your own makes me regret buying my honda CTX 700 looks like a bitch and a half to get to the filter

I changed the filter at 24000 Km. I hope to have the bike sold by the time it needs it again. :)

It’s so far from being difficult. This bike is infinitely more easy to work on than my Italian bike. There’s a whole range of difficulties out there and this bike barely moves the needle.
Lousy design,no way it should be that much work
Horrible camera views and no details in video.
