2014 BEC Full High Definition Super Slow Motion Video

Спорт

Bowlingdigital.com has provided live streaming of the 2014 Brunswick Euro Challeng , one of only two European Bowling Tour Platinum events this season and Europe's richest bowling tournament.
Bowlingdigital's Flavio Cuva proudly presents a Full High Definition Super Slow Motion video featuring some of the best players from Europe and Asia as well as stars from the Professional Bowlers Association.
In the motion picture industry, the standard filming and projection formats are 24 frames per second (fps). Shooting at a frame rate higher than 24 fps would create slow motion when projected.
This video is a quantum leap in tenpin bowling video technology as it was recorded with 200-400 fps (some scenes are edited to up to 2.000 fps). Enjoy!

Have your thumb at 2:00 position and your fingers at 4:00 position throughout the backswing and forward to the point of release. Once the ball gets pass your sliding heel, let your thumb release. For a moment you will feel the weight of the ball on your fingers. Lift the ball through the release and you will create the hook. I know I did it right when I can feel my fingers lifting and imparting a one to two inch spin on the ball with my hand still in the position that I described at the beginning. That is what you see the pros doing in this vid. I hope this helps.

Great video. I always thought the hand would be under the ball until the lowest part of the swing but clearly, that's not what happens.... only if you use both hands to support the weight of the ball all way down. Like tennis backhands and topspin shots, there's a nifty sweet way to do it .. and like tennis two-handed backhands, it looks kinda awkward to use both hands unless you learn like that since you was a kid...

Hand goes inside swing plane at the top, wrist cocked at 45 degrees at the ankle, then straighten your hand out in a snapping yoyo motion. Follow through palm updingers should rotate from 7 o’clock to two o’clock when the thumb comes out. The faster you do this, the more revs you impart.

This video really shows what the modern bowling ball has done to the game. Few bowlers today seem to have a true traditional release with the fingers under the ball and then releasing through it, letting the ball do most of the work. Most of what I see now is twisting of hands and side action trying to produce revs or steering of the ball towards the pocket. Yes this produces dancing pins and some exciting strikes but slight hiccups in the delivery produce some horrendous splits. My 25+ year old urethane ball ay seem primitive to the youth of today but when that ball rolls through the pocket and the pins are vacuumed into the pit it just feels right. Anyone who has thrown a ball like that knows what I mean.

Professionals work the inside part of the ball during release . Amateurs work the outside
