2013 Volkswagen CC R-Line 0-60 MPH Drive & Review
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
( www.TFLcar.com ) 2013 Volkswagen CC R-Line is a new age 4 door coupe. That's right a coupe is normally designed with only two doors but there's a new breed of German coupes that now have the swept back low roof line that is the hallmark of coupes but they feature four doors for family friendly loading. In another fun and informative TFLcar review we test the sporty 2013 Volkswagen CC R-Line from 0-60 MPH at a mile above sea level. In the process we also learn that not all coupes have to have four doors.

I have a 2010, and ive never been happier with any car ive ever had before than this. Ive had no other vehicle that i actually get up early for, just to drive it to work and enjoy the driving experience. What a joy!

I liek taking the metro to go work and relax reading a novel.
This is the only vw car that I like so far. I mean look at this car, it is so sexy!
That is true, you don't see that much people driving CCs.
You guys are so much fun to watch. I bought a certified 2015 cc before seeing your video. It has confirmed my impressions. Like the fact that you're in Colorado too -- where I live. Keep up the fun reviews.

do you still have it? how was it?
Nathan, I don't blame you for falling in love with this one. This one had my heart from the very beginning and it use to be a lot more affordable. I don't think I've seen a CC on a used car lot.
you guys are well on your way to becoming youtube Stars, keep it up and don't lose that enthusiasm!
I’ll be purchasing this exact model in a few days as my first car and after watching this review, I’m even more excited about it. Nice work 👍🏾

probably my favorite episode of tfl car ever RRRRRRR!
When did Larry the cable guy start reviewing cars?
Very helpful video when you're deciding to buy or not one of these. Thanks for your time.
Hi there Roman and Nathan, first off, let me tell you that your clip is by far my favourite CC 2013 review. Stumbled over it while looking for more hands-on info clips as I am looking forward to buying one of these sometime over the next few months - keep up the good work: Quality made show, great insight into the vehicle itself and surprisingly funny as the icing on the cake - and they say Germans lack a sense of humour - not!
It's almost been a year of me owning a 2013 CC VR6 Executive and I must say I absolutely love this car. The VR6 engine is fast, and the car itself is comfortable but sporty when you want it. It's got the looks of a coupe but he practicality of a sedan.
There is this sick cc R yes R that works near my house. I drool every time i go by. I only heard it start up once and it was majestic
Nathan you made me put this video in my very funny playlist!!! You made me laugh so much!! Love the editing in this video!!
Great Video, btw. I Love all your Videos and I'm from Germany :)
great review guys!
Great review! I had a 2013 VWCC and traded it for a 2018 GMC Canyon in October 2018. The "CC" is a blast to drive! Its a very comfortable car for both driver and passenger. Fuel economy averages around 24-26mpg. Ride quality is pretty good, but cabin can be a bit noisy, especially under aggressive acceleration. Reliability is the deal breaker. I've had issues with the electronics. Fuel flow sensor and one other sensor went bad. Finally, I had a leaky water pump and an oil leak. I traded the car with 110, 000 miles. Its a beautiful looking car, but as the miles pile up, I can see this being a money pit. Buy it used, with low miles and get an extended warrantry, keep for a few years and get out quick....
I purchased this car used a couple months ago. Only issue I’ve run into to so far was a pretty bad coolant leak from the water pump. Replaced the old plastic with aftermarket aluminum and she’s good to go. I had to do it myself because I couldn’t find a mechanic that would take it on, but it was only a four hour job. Car handles really well, and feels super nice to be in. Clutch catches well. Revs drop a little slow when you’re trying to shift quick, but that’s to be expected with a turbo
I can consistently get 6.3s - 6.4s in my 2010 2.0t VW CC at sea level, I guess it makes that much of a difference!

I was thinking that too, got a 2012 cc 2.0.
Thank u. Luv u guys. Keep up the great work. I watch u guys every night on KZread. What was the last car? Last question.
good job Nathan I love this car too!!
Very well done video and thanks for the laughs! Subscribed!
I'm 6'1 and basically spent 4 days in the backseat of this car. Wasn't that bad, my head brushed the roof but I was comfortable for the most part.
Nathan, when the CC was introduced in Europe, it was called the PASSAT CC, as it shares the PQ46 platform with the 2006-2010 Passat (in the US). CC got a updated dash board, which even the 2010 Passat got the practically the same instrument panel. If you go to VW Germany's site you'll see their Passat got updates also when they refreshed it. If you're comparing the NMS Passat to the CC, then you're correct.
gr8 choice u will like it, the new one is exactly the same as the old one. I bought a 2011 cc 9 months ago and cant be happier. Try the DSG one, it moves.
I have a VW CC In Colorado! Go Nathan!
Yep, and thanks for the information. We just did a series of reviews on the Tennessee-built Passat. Completely different vehicles. Thanks for watching.
does this drive like the gti? because i drove this and im wondering if the gti drives the same or if its better.
Nathan and Roman I need your help. I'm thinking about buying one of these in the next few days but I have a question about the low front end grill. The R lines front end is about 1 to 1.5 inches lower than the already low front end of the regular CC. With your time with the car did you guys have any problems going up or down curbs or parking the car over a curb? I only get a limited test drive so for me it's hard to tell. Thanks!
Why do you guys have a Michigan plate? Are they in Michigan or Colorado?
"Video or it never happened" - TFLcar KZread page manager..... I love that line, LOL!
You said you've only seen two in Colorado? I saw one in my office parking lot today in Longmont. Maybe that was one of your two. Sharp-looking car. One of my coworkers and I gawked at the thing for ten minutes figuring out what VW it was. I had a new Passat two weeks ago as a rental on a trip. Loved it.
yes
Great review as usual. I bought a 2009 Cc Lux and absolutely love it. You don't need more than the 2.0. The vr6 is nice but guzzles premium. Actually crossed shopped a Genesis sedan and preferred the sportiness and style of the vw as well as styling. Their change to a more "generic American" style is disappointing as they were spot on the generation before. It is the best car I've owned in 12 different purchases. I've gotten stopped or complimented more on its style than any of the others.
I bought a 13 r-line with the dsg new and had it for nine years before it got totaled. Outside of the brittle suspension it was the best car I've had long term and the longest car I've held onto up to this point. It's starting to look a little dated but still such a clean look and design. Peppy enough around town and decent pull at highway speeds even for a 10 year old vehicle with practical passenger and cargo space!
We met about five years ago. I was doing an automotive journalistic beat for a few outlets while Roman was doing car-gear and running a triathlete website. We met at a press conference in Denver. Thanks for watching!
It will, there will be 4 door version. 4 series will be something like 6 series - based on the lower series, priced closer to the higher one. There will be three versions: coupe, cabrio and 4 door.
I'm surprised by the numbers. Very good for the non-V6 non-AWD version
Thanks Nathan, I appreciate it. I might have to forget this one. I really don't like the front end styling of the regular CC only the R one. I live in a snowy State so I wouldn't want to have worry about every 5 inch diameter ice snowball on the road I encounter this winter. If I remember right I don't think the curbs in Germany are as high or slope as high as they do here. My driveway might be a problem and I assume many parking spots with curbs as well. Darn, such an awesome car!
6:30 .. that smirk though 😂
Great review and yes this car is amazing. I had a 2010 CC sport manual and now a 2013 CC r line manual. They drive totally different but very fast. The r line seems to like to go fast period compared the the 2010 I had. I have upset infiniti drivers and those with the big pipes and spoilers in the back. Well worth the money no complaints here.
I will give it a buy it!!! I love it!!!
Nice one, thanks guy... Keep it up :)
How does this compare to the vr6 awd model?
The OEM rear view camera is available on eBay , works with factory navigation screens
Well done men! I like it 😎
The Smart car, Suzuki Reno and MINI Cooper Coupe. The Reno was never filmed by TFLCar, but was on another channel.
I'm getting a 2013 sport plus I've only seen 3 of them ever in real life all were at the dealership.
@chocolatewheelchair: the 2.slow title is reserved for the 8V 2.0L motor that is available in the Jetta (which for some odd reason, people buy, then complain it is too slow
I own this car. I love it so much
TFL CARRR!
wait so let me get this straight... this car has cornering headlights but no sunroof? is there a backup camera? but im prettt sure its optional but a 33k car should have these standard
When you talk about the manual gear as if it is so much better, you mean it only for the sporty/agressive drive, right? I personally have a manual car and prefere to drive my girls automatic one on a daily use... Wouldnt be better than the manual a automatic gear with sequencial mode? If not, why? Thanks!
Great car. I love VW!
I kept waiting for a CCR back track. Up Around The Bend would have been perfect.
Beautiful
What type of engine does it have ?
bravo nice play
Are yall gonna review a Merc. CLA?

how does a car badged "r-line" not have a sport suspension?
I have this car for a year and a half and just love it; fantastic motorway cruiser but also fantastic in corners. Suspension is a good compromise between comfort and sport but the best part is the engine especially paired to a DSG box.
hi The Fast Lane Car, i read this on my Tiguan's manual (i assume it is the same for all VW). to use Launch Control, turn the stability control off, left foot on the brake, rev it to 4000rpm (i believe), then left go of the brake =D
These guys must be best friends.
I just turned 19 and got the "14 model with R-line packaging for $16,000 with only 35,000 mileage. I'm lucky I'll say that, but this for for the price feels just like I'm in a 4-series..crazy

Hey Roman & Nathan. Just a quick question. You remind me of myself and my friend because we always do engine work or car stuff, and it just occurred to me that my friend and I are probably going to be friends for a long time. Regardless, time for the question. Were you and Nathan friends when you guys were kids or did you guys meet as grown adults?
you in the top
Great car
The 3.6 is available with the 4 Motion and there is an APR kit for the 2.0T that for $5.300 puts out 451hp...yowzers
Hate to be THAT guy but which ones in recent memory did you "award" that rating?
U r the best
good to know!!
Nice ford in the background
I own one of these (probably one of the two you've seen, mines black lol) and it is an INCREDIBLE car to own. Yes, I've had issues with it, more than I would rather let on. But, it makes me want to drive nothing else ever again. I look at new BMW's or Audi's and think "eh...I like mine better"
The European ones do usually have a rowdy exhaust
This really is a great car. I had one as a rental car for 5 days and loved it. Obviously it was an automatic but it was a lot of fun to drive. Beautiful exterior styling and the interior is quite nice. BUT, the seats feel like you are sitting on a slab of granite...way too firm for my liking for any length of time.
@TheBossMan971
10 жыл бұрын
The seats are really comfortable
I've actually heard some stories from Audi dealers and VW dealers of just the opposite, people buying a CC VR6 4motion rather than the A4
My 2012 6 speed cc is awesome and so far it has gave me 20k trouble free miles. But i can assure you when that lease is up they can take the keys. The TSi engines timing chains have been jumping and the coilpacks fail prematurely.
I love vw
Passat CC vs Fusion which handles better? Which has better ride? In Europe the Fusion(Mondeo) is better sold than Passat CC /Passat and in Europe Fusion 2 has manual tranny, unlike the stupid 6 speed of Ford which actually adds weight and no AWD so its lighter and the fusion in Europe is damn quick, also how is the interior quality and fit and finish compared to Fusion?
The Passat is made in the US. The Golf GTI is made in Wolfsburg, Germany.
That is one sexy car.
Nathan get into the trunk: hilarious.
cute opening
Not a VW fan due to their poor reliability, but I do like the body style of the CC. Great looking car!
The 2.0 is also better specially when u get it tuned by APR 50+ HP GAINS...the 2.0 is a way better option than the v6
What if I tell you guys that here in Brazil VW sells this car with a engine 3.6 V6 300 hp and dual clutch for something around 77.000,00 dollars?
I just hate how everything today is 2 liter turbo charged 4 cylinder
@yomeyo6622
5 жыл бұрын
i swear to god... even if on the brochure it has the same horsepower as the older V6 model (Of any car), it just does not feel the same... and V6 models are getting more and more expensive
i think that for the hp it has, it did great on power. 30k+ for luxury bussines sedan and great mpg is worth it since you will get that money back on gas. It would be worse buying a v6, with more power and with less mpg at the 30k+, in terms of money in the long run when you consider gas pay + car price.
Assembly: Emden, Germany, Changchun, China (FAW-VW), Puebla, Mexico
Pricewise only. CLA is based on A class which is a compact car.
I owned a 2010 with DSG, 6 speed is better, because it doesn't cost $400 to tune up at 40k miles. I returned it after my lease. Very nice looking car IMO.
Never RWD it would be pretty good with AWD(Volkswagen 4Motion) still a good car though.
Exactly, a base A4. Add up options you want on an A4 that the VW has, then it's not the same..
I think what they do for the american market is use cheaper components in order to try and compete with low american prices. In europe, VWs are considered reliable cars.
The VW CC appears it would compete against a Buick Verano turbo.
I just configured it on Volkswagen website for the german market. The CC R-Line similar to the onbe testet with the silver paint, the Sat-Nav, and the headlight package etc. It added up to around 46000€ (62000 USD). I did not check any extra boxes, only the ones I think I was able to see in the tested car... Without any options (no satnav, no leather interior, no metallic paint etc.) the CC with that engine and manual would cost 38000€ (52000$). And they said in the Vid it starts at 33000$ in the US?!?!? It's just unbelievable. The exchange rate is really doing you americans some good. You get our german cars at bargain prices :D We do have 19% sales tax. I don't know about the US but maybe that is a factor too?
