i love the fender flares on this generation

When I first saw the Hatchback STI, I instantly fell in love with it. I first saw it in 2009's Fast and Furious, ever since I've been a Hatchback guy, yes I love Sedans, muscle cars, european sports/super cars. But I perfer hatchbacks

I own a 2011 wrx and 2 things that never get old is the awd handling (gives you so much confidence ) and the sound. Any modification you do to the exhaust system will unlock that rumble sound. I did a muffler delete on mine and it sounds perfect, backfires and all.

Nice review David! Loving your intros, this one was sweet too. Good impressions, it was interesting to hear you compare it to your Mustang. You should keep doing that!

These things are like super glue on the road. I drive in the wet and my mom is like ehhhh, I just tell her. Mom this is all wheel drive, we aren't going to slip off the road. You'd probably have to make a big mistake for that to happen

Every one and their mom in Utah has a WRX, and I can finally see why. Yeah we have really dry and hot summers, But our Winters can get pretty brutal, and it makes the most sense for a car enthusiast where we live, especially because they handle really nice, we have incredible mountain and canyon roads That said.. I might get one of these instead of the 350z I've always wanted

Good review but they have 16 gallon tanks. The mileage without a Cobb Tune on 93 is about 17-23 depending on how much highway if you don't turbo around town everywhere.

I liked the review a lot, I like how level headed you are about the cars you drive. Only thing I contrasted with and maybe it's because it looks like I have 60lbs on you, the seats work great for me. They hug me well and I don't seem to have the same issues as you.

Getting the '14 after new years and the wait is killing me. It's like being 9 and waiting for christmas.

@wildman really how many subarus have u owned? Cause I had an 02 wrx never broke any pistons and now I have 07 sti with 76k and pro tuned by Cobb and have no failure with engine wtf are u talking about??

I remember having white plastidip on my WRX's wheels. So many stains from the brake dust LOL.

Jhemel Mesiona Red stuff brake pads man! They leave very minimal brake dust and perform really well! Wash your car once a week and you can barely ever notice the dust.

David help!! Stuck on deciding for a 2013 Subaru BRZ or a 2013 wrx sti other thing is I'm leaning towards the brz and can't decide if I want a automatic with paddles or manual with the stick shift, any advice? Kinda new to stick shift but can drive it with no problems. So paddles or stick?

Definitely go with a true manual transmission. I love my 12 wrx, I've driven both brz's and sti's and I have to say the sti is way more worth it. Stock I was beating my friends brz. Driving my friends 15 sti for a month makes me want one so bad. You get the more power more space and more fun in an sti. It's all personal choice though. If I found a brz for a decent price I wouldn't complain if it was mine. Haha

If you want to go stupid fast in a straight line and fairly good around corners get the 5.0 If you want to feel invincible around corners and sacrifice a little bit of straight line speed get the sti. That's my 2 cents. haha.

Did that have the short throw shifter from factory or did it have the regular stock shifter?

ThatDudeinBlue oh okay because my friend is looking into getting a 2013 wrx and he wasn't sure if he wanted to get that short throw that you can order with the car or an aftermarket one (he's not into cars and performance like we are he just wants to have a cool sporty car he could never deal with a barton like ours haha).

Get a Kartboy short throw shifter with front and rear bushings. The stock shifter (even with the STI short throw shifter) is like driving a truck. Throws are to long, vague at times and mushy. An aftermarket one with stiff bushings makes all the difference. Night and day difference to be exact.

0-60 in 5 seconds on a wet road... Damn

not in the same league. I drive this car and I don't keep up with the 5.0s close but not quite. I really don't mind because ive drivin both and I think the drivability and handling of the wrx out weighs the v8 power. you can push this thing so hard its amazing. I personally love turbo power hearing it spool up and then taking off mmmm

It's a performance clutch, in a cheaper/older car it would've been damaged but in this car I don't think it represents a problem :)

not the clutch, the trans. I dont worry about my clutch when i launch i burn it a tiny bit but that better than throwing the whole weight of the car on the trans at once :/

Mike Cornejo I agree 100% with you. I used to own a modified WRX and it's a big no no to do AWD launches, unless you have a built tranny. It ruins the transmission and it's actually better to have a "weaker" clutch because a really strong one will make the tranny take all the shock from a launch. So Flores has no idea what he is talking about.

I wouldn't say rip off V8 but to me it sounds like a muscle car bred with a tuner. Porsches have boxers but due to the difference in engine designs Porsches and subies are unique that way. Lexus ISF totally different beast but still. I consider the subie WRX/STI the muscle tuner of the AWD rally world.

Evan's Fishing Vids from 2008 to 2014 they have the EJ257 engine, in 2015 the WRX got the FA20 engine with turbo
