2013 Mazda 3 SkyActive 2.0 L Starter Replacement

Starter removal / change for 2013 Mazda 3. I think the procedure should be the same for model years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 with SKYACTIVE 2.0 L engines.
Tools used: 10, 12, 13, 14 mm shallow and deep sockets. 3/8 regular length and a stubby ratchet. 3" extension. Small flat head screw driver.

    If yours is the same year and has the same engine then it should be the same

    Are you turning both bolts in the same direction?

    Yes. if you are removing them then you rotate them anti-clockwise and when tightening them then you rotate clockwise.

    @@sulla9528 okay one more question, I saw you tighten/loosen the bolt attached to the starters, the bolt that goes under the plastic cover. If that's attached to the starter, does that need to be tightened or loosened? I'm asking because I don't wanna miss any steps
