Thanks you for all the videos. Please do the front speakers. Crutchfield speaker sizes don't make sense. They say only 5.25 inch speakers will fit. But the factory speakers are 6x8. Also Rockauto has speaker plates for 6.5 inch speakers for the front. And there is better options for speakers in 6.5 and 6x8 sizes. Crutchfield says there is very little depth available on the front speaker mounts (like 1.7in). It doesn't seem correct. Should be the same as back. Basically I am wondering how deep of a speaker can fit in the front and what sizes can actually fit. For example a regular 6.5 in speaker or 6x8. It would be awesome if you can get that info for us, nobody has that info online anywhere. Thanks again for all the info in these videos.

Yes, it is something that I have been a bit lazy on. I will get on the front speakers, but its winter here now so it might be a few weeks before I start to really consider it.

In general electrics the brown wire is the positive. On speakers it doesnt matter which way around they are connected though.

It matters if you have more than one speaker because your speakers could be out of phase if they are just wired in any way.

Great video! I’m looking to upgrade the speakers in my Mazda 3. I seen another video when sound deadening the rear doors after you unbolt the inner plastic piece the windows tends to fall. Was that the case. And if you managed to do the front speakers were there any issues?

I wanted to do the fronts this fall, but slacked off on it, so I haven't done them yet. I don't think there will be an issue but they will have the tweeters and cross over to deal with so it will be slightly more involving. The video I made directly before this was sound deadening the front door, and that video shows the window components a bit better. If you want to totally remove the inner plastic then you will have to fight with the window for sure, but if you just unbolt the inner plastic but leave it hanging while you work like I did you likely won't have issues with the window. Since it's on a cable system it might dip slightly, but when I repositioned the inner plastic it went back into the correct posn when I bolted everything back up.

Hello! I know this video was posted some time ago, but I am also in the situation of replacing the old speakers (on all 4 doors), 3 of them are dead already so yeah... In order to spare me of the headache of putting different speakers I bought some OEM ones due to the plug and play situation, but since I open all door panels I want to put some deadening material on all doors. How difficult it is to remove the "middle" panel, the one with the window motor on? Do I have to remove the motor or is ok to just remove all the screws and clips on the panel and that's it? Also, how hard is to fit that middle panel back on the door and to align the motor with the gear inside? Thanks! :D

Its not that hard to partially remove, I let it hang when I had taken it off the door for sound deadening. Here is the video of just the sound deadening in the front doors. I was just careful not to damage the window motor or the slide and cables. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKGLo7eNYtnJfqQ.html

No absolutely not. On the rear doors I found that the windows don't go down far enough near the speaker to actually touch it. I'm going to try to change out the front speakers in a few weeks, but I don't forsee an issue.

Sorry, didn't see this one. No absolutely not, the rear windows don't come down far enough to actually hit the speaker. I dropped them down with the speaker out and the window stopped a few inches higher than where the speaker would actually sit.

unfortunately no not yet, it's on my list of things to get to but it keeps getting bumped off. i did do the sound deadening in the front door but didn't look to see if the window could hit the speaker. I'm thinking it won't, but I'm not 100% on that.

It depends on your reason for doing it. If you want to dramatically reduce road noise then you should do more. If you just want your audio to sound better and eliminate rattles from random vibration, then yes it is worth it.

My front speakers are the same as the rear, 6x8. My car has additional tweeters that are also in the front door. I think that is an option though so you may or may not have the addition tweeters. So you could just put in a 2 or 3 way into the door and just leave the tweeter as is, or you could get a component speaker for the front and also change out the tweeter. I have been meaning to do this but have been slacking.....for 2 years.
