Just a quick and easy video showing how to replace the front brake pads and Rotors on a 2013 Hyundai Accent. These pads weren't worn down too bad, but the owner is sending his kid off to college and wanted to make sure they were new and wouldn't give him any trouble while he is away. I also decided to re-install the outer shim this time. I have left it off in the past and didn't have any problems with it. Also, if you live in an area where vehicles are prone to rust, you might want to have a few of the replacement screws that hold the rotor on the hub available in case they don't want to come off.
I also made a video of how I replaced the rear brake pads & rotors on this same vehicle:

Awesome man, thanks Dan! I would like to add we could look for the state of the piston and rubber gasket before pushing it in (once in a while), but not mandatory for a pads change! Thanks! And question: What are the reason why we should need to change the rotors, other than really juste the thickness?

This might be a dumb question, sorry if it is I don’t know anything about car parts. I want to to change my brake rotors and fluid, but can I use degreaser or fabuloso to clean the clip and the rest of that part? Thank you for the video it’s super detailed and informative!

Hi Selena, Not a dumb question at all. I think it would be fine to clean the retaining clips with any type of degreaser or cleaner if you plan on using the old ones. Most brake pads come with new clips and hardware now, but I have reinstalled them many times in the past. Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man

Great video. I have a question, I don't have a torque wrench, if I use a regular wrench, is going to be ok anyways? I changed pads and discs before and I never use a torque wrench so I dont know if I had being doing it wrong. Tia

Hi Dan, I used to never use torque wrenches at all. Even in some of my earlier videos, I didn’t use them. I used to just make it good and snug without overdoing it and breaking bolts. I guess I used to go by ‘feel’ depending on the size of the bolt and I never had any problems in the past doing it that way. Best of luck to you! Thanks for watching, -Dan the Fix it Man
