Here in Europe the standard 500 Abarth has the 135 hp t-jet engine, but you can order the esseesse kit for it to get the 160 hp. So in terms of engine power, the Fiat Turbo is the same than our 500 Abarth.
I don't know why I even bother trying to get useful information from car videos on other channels
It's the ESC light. Electronic suspension control doing it's magic.
Ok. Thanks for the info.
To all who are speculating on the light its actually the break in attempt light. It will blink like that when you start the car after the alarm went off. The car flips out if you lock it and the passenger door opens from inside. I own the same fiat non turbo.
Nice little car!
Please show me the difference between 500 abarth and 500 turbo. By the way, I have the same Merrell as yours.
Good looking car ! i love it :)
I just found it funny that you started off your message with... "I'm not saying the guy doesn't know how to drive..." and then proceeded to say he did not know how to drive :-)
@ 4:20 from the stop light, how is that slow shifting?
I'm guessing it might have been the LED for Traction off.. LEDs usually flicker on camera due to their refresh rates even if they're solid
What kind of camera do y'all use to record your POV videos?
I think it's a "low fuel" alert light. I had a Fiat and it had that light. But it doesn't blink, the blinking must be from the camera frame rating.
for me, perfect city car. fiat group. italian lover.
It's a 10.5 gallon fuel tank for the US market. The light that you see coming on and off during corners is the ESC light. Electronic suspension control doing it's thing.

The fuel tank is under 10 gallons on this vehicle.
I had an Alfa romeo series 4 spider 1991, its near as fun to drive except it has better acceleration. A lot better for that matter. I currently own the turbo, which is a detuned abarth. My first reaction was thats pretty powerful for 1.4L turbo. I learned later that was an understatement. Considering it has the same engine and power train. Except for tuning. Im pretty sure the car uses only about 20% of possible output from the 1.4L Turbo. The Abarth closer to 30% plus handling options, and dual exhaust. I've seen videos where the output is boosted to 77%. But as is I'm yet to meet a civic Si that can win a 60 mph dash with the fiat turbo. The difference isn't the engine. Its the transmission. My Alfa wanted to shift gears at 4500 rpm. The fiat is very similar. The most important difference is the clutch assembly seems to be stronger almost regenerative. My 02 mini was a pos in comparison. If your hard on it once it would act limped and you felt like the cars transmission and clutch were gonna bottom out any day. Having gotten the mini at 28k and it bottomed out by 32 and again at like 47k. I have 15k miles on the fiat 500 t strong as the day I got it. I can't think how many civic si's have tried to keep up and have torn a clutch, knocked a transmission etc. Being the 500t and abarth share a lot of the same power train. It would be hard to induce a repair on the transmission or clutch on the 500t, its not regulated. Its just not overly tuned in the first place. Its still very fun and although not as fun as an old Alfa, what is. But I'd take the modern fiat 500t over it as a daily driver. Hard driving 4-6.5 k rpm in most gears and not sweating afterwords a firm step towards automotive perfection.
How do you get a job test driving all these cars like you do? I'm very interested in knowing.
Exactly!
You guys should tell us the base price in the description.
fun little car
what car do u drive???
Little big monster!
please always tell us the information about car...
yep them stats are the same as the 2007 fiat bravo 1.4T but it has 150BHP
Yep.
Do the ford focus rs and a golf r32!!!!!! PLEEEEASE!!!!

how does the Dre Beats sound system sound in this car?

Who has driven a Fiat 500 turbo with the Dr. Dre Beats stereo setup? How's it sound?
yeah 8 gallon fuel tank you see that "low fuel" light a lot because it turns on at 2 gallons left lol any time i rent a car and a fiat is available its my number1 choice. as much as i like the manual i think the auto is the one to buy because the 6 speed transmission allways keeps it in its power band and it allways downshifts when you press the button and hold gears at the rev limiter.

The manual is much lighter and has less drivetrain loss
not exactly tho, 500 turbo is only 135 hp vs 160 on abarth and lost the sport suspension, 17 rims, body kits and the exhaust
Is there an AWD version of this? It's all good and cool, but the price is exaggerated i think. With 20k there are other options in the market that can satisfy you better, I think.
Good sound for a fiat.
since you've driven both, what do you prefer the abarth or turbo?
@stevey500

I know you asked 8 years ago, but, it's all subjective. The cushier comfy ride of the non abarth can be more desirable in areas with rougher potted roads, it also turns WAY shaper than the abarth with a different steering setup. These two things may be a big deciding factor for some people.

@@stevey500 thanks for the reply :)
Alot of car journalist say "it's Italian" and made a huge deal about it saying its like a Italian supercar. Like damn its not holding a Ferrari or Lamborghini badge, I don't give 2 shits about it being Italian. That's like calling the Toyota corolla "as cool as the Lexus LFA"
I wish mine was turbo
Not a fan of the shiny dash. Look like fun to drive though!
Get the Abarth SS.. that's much more exciting
what car you have in real life ? :D
No he dosn't have beats audio
I wish it was a 6 speed!
This is better looking than the Abarth.

+buildmorefarms100 But, they look pretty much the same
This car with 1 gallon run up 50 mhp
Is this real life
do more fords
So he should have slammed through the gears like a teenager in his clapped out Civic? There is a reason why some folks burn through that many clutch packs when they rip through the gears and do not give the gears time to mesh.
Fiat 500
only more fun car for the money is the honda fit wich is not pretty either lol
Actually, they left because Americans didn't know what the fuck to do with the things in terms of maintenance (they were way ahead of what we expected from cars at the time). Plus, the abysmal dealer/maintenance networks didn't help them much either. Older FIAT cars, rust aside would have been very reliable in the U.S. if our citizens of the time only knew how to take better care of them.
is it me or is that car got high idel...
so you're saying the guy doesn't know how to drive..
non tiri mai la 3°
how do you know pinhead, you're watching a video with no dialogue
*lol* they have taken the 500 Abarth, removed the Abarth signs and named it to Fiat Turbo. ;-)
don't buy it. I'm italian.
