IF more air means more HP and the BBK front has a bigger opening but the back is the same size opening as stock than there cant be much more air coming in. You can have a straw with an ultra wide opening in a shake but you still get the same amount out. the 90mm might give a little more but could not be that big of a difference.

@@tjvermillion5888 I tried a BBK throttle body. It lasted 2 hours and gave up and left me stranded on the side of the road. Put the original one on and ran perfectly.

Everyone is telling me i dont want to put a 90mm on my truck would it be better to go 85mm with it

What about the Füćking relearn part ???

Is it a true 90mm all the way thru? Cause I'm pretty sure a true 90mm won't match up to the factory sealing surface.

Get a rough country intake with a diesel hi flow filter(4x10) and you'll like it

You missed how to recalibrate the sensor, not doing this will throw codes.

What is the circumference of the intake manifold throttle body mount opening? Is it 80mm to match the stock Throttle body, or is it larger? I ask because if it is 80mm, then the larger 90mm throttle body opening is not 'ported'. So, the larger Throttle Body circumference doesn't really increase air flow due to the 80mm restricted neck on the intake. American Trucks - please respond to this question.

@@vicer77 I bought an 80mm and installed it on my 2018 5.7L. The stock intake is approx. 83mm (i think....) and the 'restriction' I inquired about is not a problem. The TB works great, but I need to install my muffler delete pipe to (hopefully) see the gains - engine breathing IN better, but still restricted by the stock muffler so breathing OUT hasn't increased.......

This is a 5.7L...but you can swap the intake and manifold over to a 5.7L and see good results from your power curve.

What about a TB spacer? Ideas or thoughts?

I did it on my 2000 Dakota with a 3.9l and manual transmission a yr after i got it in 2001. First was exhaust, 2nd, cold air, 3rd was the spacer. Everything I did lowered the rpm that I felt the power kick in. In 3rd gear I started to feel it around 3,800 rpms, exhaust lowered to 3,300, intake to 3k, and then the spacer to 2,800. I had 3.55 rears in it and that was great for mpg, but it had a weak spot from 2nd to 3rd gear around 50mph. I had to run the rpms up high so 3rd would pick it up, afterward it wasn't an issue. (This was during towing). So, yes it helps a little, but probably helps more when you have other things that work together. I had over 200k miles on it over 20yrs and only replaced water pump once, ball joints once, and heater core so I had heat in the winter 17yrs in. That's it. It was a great truck but I needed something larger to pull horses around and sold it to a 18yr old kid. Still running now.

Don’t do it, if you’re N/A, there’s no point, unless you’re running NOS or something, don’t waste your money.

With the pedal commander can I add this on top of the 90 mm throttle body ?

The coupler attaching the intake tube to the new throttle body may be a little tight, but it will fit and perform just fine! -Zach

Do you have to tune your truck after you install this throttle body ?

This specific throttle body will *only* fit 2013-2018 5.7L RAMs. BBK does have a 2003-2012 option though, that will fit yours just fine. Check out the following link! -Zach www.americantrucks.com/bbk-90mm-throttle-body-57l-0312ram.html

You won't need to re-tune your truck after installing this throttle body. If you plan on pairing this with an intake, exhaust and some other parts though, you will definitely see a better boost in performance after tuning. -Zach

It doesn't matter if the intake side is larger if the output of this throttle body is still the original size. Looks like a waste of $500 to me.

These are the guys that vinyl their pickups for 4000$, buy every last thing Haas tells them to buy at full retail and then charges 500$ like its no big deal. It's a hunk of aluminum. Not silver. Just cause you can't do the job without spending 400k doesn't mean its worth 500$. That means you suck at your job and someone hungrier deserves your paycheck.

Your still bottle necked on intake. Do yourself a favor and use that $500 towards a better intake.

That would be a fail as well . Best choice is getting the 6.4 hemi intake manifold and swapping it. You need injector spacers to use the 5.7 injectors or get it tuned for the 6.4s injectors . Plus get it ported gains up to 40 hp dyno proven then add a intake to maximize air flow .

500$?!?!??! I'll build a benchtop CNC lathe here in Detroit for 500$ and put you out of business! I'll start with every 38$ core at my local junkyard, bore it out and flip them for 250$ on Fleabay all day long. What a freakin joke. You dont have to buy the most expensive tools to do the job. I'm not paying your insane overhead cause you cant run a business efficiently. JFC
