That gray retainer on that fuel feed tube comes off super easy if you use a trim button tool on it

Car will stall and start sometimes after engine cools

Is a fast ticking sound coming from this HPFP normal? Just wondering, because my mothers car has a fast ticking sound coming from that same fuel pump, it's a 2017 kia soul 1.6. she has no issues or warning lights.

Chuy question the line that goes from that fuel pump to the injectors does it have to be replaced as well? And based on what you did is it the third line that you had to use the two screwdrivers?

My 2014 kia rio goes of behind the red light. They checked tha battery and alternator and is good i was wondering it may be that high pressure fuel pump.!?

My 2018 Kia SOul LX usses a tonne of oil any way this might helkp my car use less oil?

I ahve kia soul 2014 1600 cc

On the fuel feed tube ( the one that wasn't broken in this video) the black retainer clip and the greyish tab are both missing. Any ideas how to pull it out without breaking the feed tube

Did you use an OBD2 scan? Did your diagnostic code read P1233?

Did you have a code For P0003 when changing this part out?

You won’t typically have a code for this. Unless it’s a fuel rail pressure code which I think is p0087.

@@vc8my yes maybe. hard to say. your fuel rail sensor might have gone out but that’s a different code I think. There’s two fuel pumps. The captive in tank and the high pressure fuel pump on the top of the engine. Could be coils or spark plugs but for all of them to be misfiring tells me it’s something else. I’d take it to Hyundai cuz I never figured mine out. Just don’t ever buy a Hyundai again, they’re direct injected time bombs. Is there any codes besides the misfires?

How big is this engine and how much horsepower does it produce??

Kia Soul 1.6 liter 4 cylinder. 138 HP is listed, generally makes a little less than that probably around 130 HP real world. Kia is optimistic about how much HP their engines make.

@@chuythemobilemechanic because the plastic safety clip was already damaged it’s locked the wire. We bought a new clip but it still won’t come off. We have the new part ready to go but until we somehow unlock the wire part we can’t replace it. My car is in limp mode currently because of it

That's the low pressure line to the high pressure pump.

where did you buy the part and is it called high pressure fuel filter? my 2014 kia soul needs this repair and i cant find the part. thank you

Im here for the samething i recently replaced the spark plugs and Ignition coils and now here i am 3 weeks later and the car sputtering when Accelerating and NO check engine lite my vehicle is a 2014 kia soul

@@ibanezsr505latin Same here. I've also got a '14 Kia Soul and mechanic wanted $5k to replace the fuel pump, which he said was the issue. I'm going to DIY it, especially after seeing this video.
