I remember customising all the trucks at the dealership to make them look nice, I can't understand why they changed it (For those who don't know, in the old dealership the trucks didn't change back to stock when you selected a different model/version after modifying them)

That is one of the few huge mistake did by SCS. The old dealership are so welcoming and cool unlike the new one which is ok but a huge downgrade from the old one. I swear the old truck dealership could've won an award. The another huge mistake did by SCS is the loading screen. The old one is more creative and nicer to look at.What is even better is that the loading screen picture changes and not just the same one shown.

9 years old and this game still gets updates regularly. It's been massively overhauled multiple times. SCS need a huge applause for what they had achieved so far. They are really passionate about it

@@rfl1804 an old games are still worth to play for an old gen players.. I started playing games in 2006 and tbh it gives a different vibes compared to new gen games.. I know game nowadays are no match to old gen especially in graphics and gameplay... But i just cant leave the old ones.

I started playing ETS 2 in 2012 just a few weeks before its release. I remember I bought it from its official website. I had to ask a friend to buy it for me and then I would pay her back by making a money deposit to her account. At that time, I didn't have a bank account yet. I liked the game so much that I couldn't stop playing it and it got even better when I discovered the mods. Since then, ETS 2 has become the game that I have invested more hours in my leisure time. Even for someone like me who is not European, I learned about the places and cities of all the countries. Countries of which I only knew by name their capitals, but not other city names. Very good video compilation about the comparisons and evolution of the game.

same here i play back the game in 2012,..after that steam came, and have to started all over again, now i started for the 3rd time, because i accidently delete my old save..,but it okay all the experience form 2021, the 1st time i brought teach me how to play the game..and faster level up. it bring me back to my old days when going to the high ways, by ways and country roads, and see the changes scs make through out the year 2012 to today..

I honestly think there's little to none things you can "break" in such game so making it better every update is quite obvious. That's what I think at least.

@@Mayor163PL While it may be obvious, the execution by SCS Software has been amazing. The lighting update they had not so long ago made a huge difference in graphics :)

I started playing Euro Truck Simulator 2 in 2013, I wished they brought back the dealership screen from 2012. But overall it has came a long way since it came out 9 years ago.

Ikr I started playing ets2 in 2020 and it's a really really good game

I started playing ETS2 in 2013, when I was only 9 years old, the change was huge with the passage of time. The first few times I did not understand anything but I had fun, little by little I was acquiring more knowledge and I began to understand it better. Now in 2021 I can't live without it, I already know how to install mods, I can play it with a steering wheel, I have a pc that can run it in high graphics, etc. Good video, the sound of the Scania in 2012 and the music of the dealer brings me many memories haha

surprisingly by 2014 I was like almost 9 and mastered this game once but then everything crashed and got the saves deleted. I began playing from ets1 already, it was like 2011 or something

I like the idea of Showrooms better back then than what we have now.

I remember when I first launched the ETS2, I was so amazed to see how many features this game has and how great it looks. Now, 11 years after the premiere, so much has changed!

2021 is more polish but you gotta love 2012 when everything starts...so many good memories of the first touch with this lovely game!

I don't know what it is about 2012 lighting but for some reason it's very comforting. I started playing ETS2 a couple months after it came out so maybe it's the nostalgia factor

Oh yeah. I even remember the first truck I bought in 2013, the DAF XF in Yellow. Still my favourite truck in the game, and the new DAF is great too.

The game has an incredible quality for being from 2012. Thanks to the support of the players and from SCS with all the updates, ETS2 has become a very realistic and entertaining game to play.

I have started playing ETS2 around 2014, when I was just 4, I remember my sister helping me understanding the game, and at that time I didn't knew the letters. I remember we had a bad laptop, we had around 40 fps in the game, and since that time, ETS2 is my favorite game, I discovered so much trucks, their engines, specifications, sounds and other, and in the same time I remember crashing around and honking all the time, I remember once crashing in cars that were stopping at red lights, so much fun since then, because games like this were very rare... Damn memories, now still playing ETS2 with the same enjoyment!

My first time in this game was in 2014 too, i was playing it on my dad's laptop, i was absolutely shocked by the physics, but after a while i ended up stucking on the road barrier and i didnt know how to call the service

What a perfect video, been waiting a long time, great job!

This is real progress right here. I just hope the creators of the Farming Simulator had the same dedication to their game as SCS has.

The thing with farming simulator is they missed the trick, instead of keeping a game updated and fresh, they sold out and wanted to make a new one every year; which turned it into a dead niche product that only a few hardcore fans buy. SCS understand how to keep things fresh, but ensure they get paid and manage their overheads through appropriately costed DLC that is also regularly on sale; and thus kept those players who wouldn't buy the "next game" every year, in with everyone who "could".

This was a really interesting, useful and epic video. Awesome and enjoyable to watch. Thank You 👍

I played ETS2 on 2015. I was a kid and I loved the game. I am still loving it❤

This game is therapeutic as all hell. It looks amazing and is just so relaxing to play.

I started playing ETS2 in 2015, when 1.16 came out, SCS has done a incredible job, When i started i was soo shaky in driving, and i was still learning how to properly stay in a lane, because i'd swerve all over the road. LOL. and now with these amazing updates, the sounds, lighting and the convoy mod. i'd probably never leave. i'll always love this game forever.

This game is a legend😍 Played it since version 1.12...I bought it for 10€ and loved it. Then I discovered the DLCs...I wanted them so much, that I made me an Steam Account extra for this game🙈 It's incredible, how it changed over the time...such a great video showing this progress! But I'm missing the old dealership screen...this was so cool...with all the trucks ok their little pedestal. But at the end...with the comparison of the FPS...I've discovered a massive framedrop over the time. My PC specs haven't changed over the past 4 years (CPU, GPU and RAM are still the same, but my FPS are lower than ever with the same graphics settings. With this setup, I've had around 120 FPS 4 years ago, now im playing with around 70 FPS...this is massive! So I found it interesting, that you had no significant difference there🤔🤷🏼‍♂️

I will spend my life savings on mods for this game It’s a very overwhelmingly good game

Bought it 2012 where I was a little kid. I loved this game so much, now in my 20s and I started playing it again... SCS did a really good job on this game and its awesome to see all this progress, I still preferred the old dealers though.

This is absolutely incredible on how the game changed over nearly a decade. That grey panel part on the Scania R 2009 should have been retained but SCS changed it to a painted panel instead in v1.23/1.24 (it remained grey from its release up to v1.22).

I remember in 2013 I was 5-6 years old, I played with my father in ets 2, it's so cool to see what changed after 9 years

Miss old nostalgia even scs software is big enough team and made 14 truck games and other games I like this fact about scs

It's kind of crazy it came out in 2012, was shown it by a friend and the graphics looked so realistic, wasn't until 2017 that I managed to get a copy, played on a laptop keyboard for a bit, until finally getting a wheel in 2020.

I started play ETS2 on december 2020 and I dont stop. All DLC, running to take all achieviements, I simply fall in love 🚚

I start ETS2 on Patch 1.2.5/1.3.1, and plays ETS1 since 2009. I love this Game today

Old version of this game was so nostalgic

I've always liked the old Scania sound. And of all the trucks, I wanted a Renault premium. My father had a Premium DCi and I really liked it, so I wanted this particular truck in the game, the old car dealership music reminds me of him. I've been playing this game since 2012, since the very first version, and I still haven't lost interest in it

It's soo nostalgic. I remember playing EURO TRUCK SIM 2 on my brothers PC. Might have reset the progress a few times..........but were not gonna talk about that.

i remember those old aerodynamic trailers, wish they were still in game and, the renault magnum still has the engine sound of the daf in 2012

good memories! In the past, this game looked really good and I wondered if it could be any better than this. Looking at the empty areas on the border of the map, I used to wonder if the map could be extended to Spain, Northern Europe and Russia. As of 2021, all your dreams in the past have already become reality! I enjoyed the demo version as soon as the game was released in late 2012. At that time, I was too young to know how to purchase the game, so I only played the demo version for over 2 years. After completing 6 or 7 shipments, I made a new game profile countless times. And around 2014, I paid about 20-25 Euros and finally bought the game. Seeing the game improving day by day, it seems like a great investment. Especially the update of weather graphics and lighting effects a while ago was a big revolution. :)

I absolutely loved old ETS2’s amazing bloom.

The game evolution is really impressiv, honestly i see the same evolution on ATS and I like the realistic thing here. I added few mods to see Real Compagny name and real sport car, truck and moto on the game .. and its totaly crazy!

Now for truck dealers I prefer the older style of the interior I even prefer the music that played as you purchase and customise the truck is there a way to experience that again maybe a mod or something?

I do miss the old showrooms...

From time to time, I still enjoy firing up Scania Truck Simulator, which was basically a preview of ETS2. You gotta love that purple lighting! 💜

God damn. I remember playing an even older one, the ets 1, then ets 2 after it came out. I still have the cd version from 2012, I'm just amazed how I still play this game and I was literally like 7 back then

After all this time, thanks to scs this game never gets boring. When I play ets2 it reminds me of the old times but with its new awesome look. Its not that I want to play old games, it is the feeling from the past that I want to have back while playing these games back in the days:))

Der Euro Truck Simulator 2 hat die Jahre so eine Beliebtheit zugenommen und dadurch das dieses Spiel immer wieder mehrfach gekauft wurde, konnte SCS Software immer weiter in die Entwicklung investieren! Daran kann man sich ein sehr gutes Beispiel nehmen, wie viel Erfolg auf dem Spielemarkt ein Spiel haben kann wenn man als Entwickler auf seine Community hört. Von Release an bis jetzt, hat sich der Euro Truck Simulator 2 ca. 5,5 Millionen mal verkauft. Das ergibt ein Bruttoumsatz von 110 Millionen Euro. Wie man auch unschwer zu Beginn des Videos sehen kann, hatten die LKWs ganz zu Beginn als das Spiel noch neu war keine richtigen Markennamen und Markenlogos. Ich schätze mal sehr stark, die Entwickler werden sich damals bestimmt gedacht haben das sie einfach mal einen LKW Simulator auf den Markt bringen. Als sie merkten das sie ihre ersten 100.000,00€ Bruttoumsatz hatten denke ich mal werden sie in die Lizenzen für die Markennamen und Markenlogos investiert haben. Und dann haben sie das Spiel immer weiter und weiter ausgebaut. Also ich bin sehr positiv der Zuversicht, sollte sich das Spiel die nächsten 10 Jahre weiterhin so gut auf dem Markt durchsetzen dann werden wir bis spätestens 2035 eine Simulation erleben können wie sie noch kein Spieleentwickler ermöglicht hat.

i remember playing it in 2013 and 2014, man i felt that something was weird about it compared to popular games at the time such as test drive unlimited 2 ... now i know that it basically was waaaaay ahead of it's time technically and in terms of art and whatever.

After seeing this video, I think the old Virginia Slims cigarette commercial slogan would fit ETS2. "You've come a long way, baby."

This game has always relived my anxiety. I don't have a friends or any social life. But I really enjoy playing this game alone. Especially when you can play your favourite music while playing this game.

When you showed the dealership, all my 2012-2014 memories came back..

Played since 2013, seeing the comparison between them makes me feel so melancholic, this game made me learn the road rules and the meaning of the signs when i was still 14yr at 2013. Made me also to obey the speedlimit or else all your money will be gone in just 1km 😆

I just discover this game and bought it in almost 2022 😀 I love it because I worked two years as truck operator.

I felt proud to see its evolution even though I only got the game this year!

We miss old truck dealer... Few truck dealers building in current versions would be a great opportunity to design them back from scratch

In my opinion there are some good parts from the original game comparing it to today. For example partially the lighting system , the rain and even some graphics I find them better/little bit more realistic in 2012 than they're now. Also I like 2012's loading screen , sat nav , and truck dealers (although I can say I had no clue the've changed that because I'm always buying online 😅). Obviously there are a lot of good parts for the actual game , more truck functions (functional windows , adjustable suspension , air horn , retarders etc) , more tunning options , ownable trailers , more truck models , map redesigns/expansions... And after all this time I still enjoy trucking around Europe , especially after new updates.

I followed these changes since I started playing in 2013. The game has improved A LOT, a lot! The community and developers are the main culprits for this improvement. However, I don't have the same performance as before! I did some computer upgrades, which improved my performance in every game I've played since then (like Dota2 for example), but on ETS2 I feel like the changes made the game heavier, so much so compared to DX9 with DX11 the "price" is clear, which is to improve the game completely.

Omg, the original showroom wae so much better... The only thing that needed change was the speed of the camera when switching to another model. Owner of ETS2 since 2016, but played a pirated version since 2014 I think, and this game still has official support. Running a Promods+RusMap+Southern Region+Middle East addon+The great steppe(which will very soon become an addon for promods)+Volga map+Sibir map. Both SCS and the mod community are awesome.
