2012 Buick LaCrosse

Ойын-сауық

GM engineers a great car but hamstrings it with tech decisions that leave the glass half full.

I had a 2007 LaCrosse, and yeah it was a lot different in a lot of ways, but it was still a LaCrosse. I wasn't looking for an American Accord or Camry, nor an American Mercedes, though I did expect a well built, reasonably luxurious and (subjectively) good-looking car. I wasn't disappointed. It was quiet, elegant, smooth-riding, adequately powerful, and had luxury features as standard that were optional or not available on competitive models. It was also perfectly reliable. I didn't have a single problem with it in the two years and 40,000 miles or so I put on it. Leather seats, remote start, dual-zone climate controls, heated seats and steering wheel, power everything, on and on.

decent review overall. but I believe they're being a tad bit condescending when it comes to the overall review of the quality and detail to styling, which GM actually did a decent job with this time. this car may not be at the top of its class, but it offers plenty to be competitive.

Hey mr tech guy just bought one yesterday it DOES!! have A2DP Bluetooth streaming and you don't have to touch the screen ever.I didn't realize it was a touch screen until the dealer showed me right before I left the lot.I can use the steering wheel or voice commands for most functions then I have the Acura like plethora of buttons for the rest.if you like tech this is a great option its geared towards younger buyers that love star trek, star wars, and knight rider im 35 I love them all.

No. It's an entry-luxury car, like the other front drive entry-luxury products like the Lexus ES and Acura TL, the competitors to this car. BUT...I'm not the one who gave the car that award, US News did, or Auto Times, so let them know they titled it incorrectly if you feel that way.

What I didn't realize about this car is its a gigantic Prius with leather (4cyl hybrid) it has no exhaust.I'm truly in love with this car.as for the car it looks like it was designed by the Chinese translated to American taste.its a cross between a new Hyundai/mid 90s Riviera inside and I mean this in a good way.Where the hell is all that power coming from It has 182hp gas+15hp elec.it prefers the city with lots of stops to regenerate and use its battery as much as possible.

My grandmother just bought one of these things. I drove it around yesterday. The reviewer covered most of the pros and cons pretty well. I don't remember him mentioning the side rear-view mirrors; they are awful. They are shaped in a bizarre way that makes it difficult to see on the passing lane. Then those damn pillars are gigantic, making changing lanes a bit frightening. Visibility sucks, which is not the idea situation for my granny. The console inside is nice. Styling is hit and miss.

How ironic? My imports were junk. Audi, BMW, bought both new, both ended up junk. I bought the Lacrosse after my BMW, which was only two years old, died on the freeway. I then talked to two people who owned Buicks, one with 248,000 miles, and another with 170,000, both had nothing but praise. So far I'm not regretting my purchase and it's been a few years.

I enjoy the new Buick's, most of the time admittedly, but not being able to really pair my phone with my car and instead having to do my calls and directions through OnStar would kill the deal for me. I drive a 2015 Cruze now and it pairs with my phone effortlessly. I don't have turn by turn nor does it support Android, but I just plug my Android into the auxiliary jack to let me phone do the work of directions and my music player piped through the stereo. I can understand that whoever the manufacturer is, they can't possibly tell who they're making a car specifically for so they have to include all the electronics and sometimes make bad choices in doing so. But I'd very much rather save a few bucks, go with a serviceable system and let my cell phone do the heavy lifting of streaming music, music player and turn by turn directions. Then you don't have the choices like this Buick forces you to make...

I'd imagine he's allowed to say what he wants because CNET is one of the most respectable reviewing..things there is for technology, and if CNET wants to move into auto's, they should have an entertaining host that isn't afraid to completely bash a car. And even if he does bash a car, it's CNET, who has heard of them giving something an inaccurate review? Correct me if i'm wrong but it's the gutsy-ness of CNET that keeps them so popular, and if something isn't up to par, they will surely say it.
