    +Baconator1368 Who told you that? Squat is mainly a leg workout with the glutes, quads, and hamstrings as primary muscles doing the lift while the erector spinae and abs act as stabilizing muscles. Sure, front squats are more of a quad-dominant lift than back squats, but it doesn't mean that you won't use your quads when back squatting. It's how the physiology of the human leg works.

    @alucard6253

    8 жыл бұрын

    Baconator1368 It says that front squats place more emphasis on quads. But it doesn't say anything about back squats not targeting quads. It's the same principle between incline and flat bench. The closer your angle from flat to perpendicular to the ground, the more resistance is set upon your shoulders than on your chest.

    Nick Wiles for sure. What I'm more thinking is why don't they use more weight and do eliminations or like powerlifting where you call your own numbers? I'd rather see 1100+ plus for a single than reps at 65%.

    Mad fucking respect. You have no idea how happy I am to finally see an extremely heavy squat with perfect form and he did it for reps. This guy is the real deal no doubt. I was thinking he was going to do one of those 2 inch squats that all those tools do with 700+ lbs and only 1 rep.

    Yeah... I'm never doing that. I have an artificial hip and just watching that gives me visions of it dislocating or snapping off while trying to squat even a quarter of that amount. No idea how much I can actually squat as still testing the water as far as what the hip can take. Baby steps.

    Just do air squats to start. It's good to practice form without hurting your knees, also can help you figure out if you even need weight yet. If you don't usually do squats, those leg muscles aren't used much. You'll be sore after just from air squats.

    Coleman had a lack of good ROM, was all wrapped up, and has more chemicals in him than are on the periodic table. I'll still take big Z as being more impressive. Many strongman and powerlifters can stop just before parallel with 800 lbs wrapped up in suits. Colemans wear and tear, substance abuse, and disproportionate strength balance in his body, over his career got him a double hip replacement at age 50, so you can goodbye to his heavy squatting days.
