2011 Subaru Outback Window Master Switch Replacement
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
NOTE! Step 3 has updated info I forgot to mention in video. Step 1: Remove two trim panel screws. 2: Remove plastic triangle at upper right, it pops out. Then, starting at upper right of trim, tug and pull trim out from door body. 3: Remove lower light plug AND THE MAIN WIRE HARNESS PLUG. The main harness plug is not the master switch plugs, it's the main plug that feeds all power to and from the door and the car. Now the trim can hang on the two door handle cables. 4: Remove the two wiring plugs from the WMS. 5. Remove two screws that hold WMS to trim. 6. Release little clips and push WMS up and out of door panel. Remove the three screws that hold it to the trim piece (2 on one end, 1 on the other). Get new WMS and reassemble in opposite order.

Sorry to hear that

Mine is surrounded by black, fabric-like tape. I would suppose it keeps air from rushing through. I don't know where I would find such tape, or what it costs. I will try to reuse my tape, patching it together with regular tape.
How much was the switch unit part??
So what's the point of having this big "non-serviceable" module, if it isn't even slightly waterproof... #fail
I hate to tell you this,.....but you don't have to take the door panel off. After removing the screw inside the door handle insert a flat head screwdriver just below the switch box. Slightly twist the screwdriver and pry off the switch box.

Killermed 78 My 2011 OB's switch was affixed to the interior door by three screws; I could have popped it out.

nope, not on a 2011 Outback: there's screws on the inside of the panel...

2011 Subaru Legacy has screws inside the door panel holding the switch. you have to remove the door panel to remove the holding screws. this video is right about removing the door panel
