Congrats on the Fat Boy. My buddy and I swapped bikes while cruising one day since I never rides a fat boy and he never rode a deluxe. I have to say I felt like “The Terminator” riding it too. Glad the video was helpful. Ride Safe. 🤙

You are correct; it is a "poor design", but then again, Harley really excell in that area. (Apply a little "Permatex Hi-Tack" to the tank surface and the plate before refitting the gasket, then torque it down (23.5 inch/lbs???). It works!) It is sad that Harley has not heard of Fel-Pro style gaskets yet! It is almost as if HD flaunts their lack of mechanical understanding, in their designs, as if it were a virtue! e.g..... The handlebar end of throttle cable fixture. The pushrod cover tensioning method. Oil cooling...or drastic lack of. Electric fuel pump, pressure regulator and filter location 🤯 Routing of crankcase oil breather via the air cleaner intake. Cam chain tensioning. I firmly believe they employ 8 year old little girls as their Technical Advisors! Videos like this are so important, as the DIY bike virgin, does not stand a chance against Harley Davidson's ineptitude. Thankyou!

I bought the book at the Harley Dealership.

My bike is leaking right there with a few filter is that how do I fix? It is a bad O-ring.

What size tool did you use to remove the ten screws?

I don't remember the size I used but it was a Torx Bit. I can look in my manual when I arrive home and get back to you.

It’s a T20 Torx.

Was it wasting gas? I just bought a 2011 deluxe and it gets poor mpg

Mine was not wasting gas. It was just leaking after I filled her up all the time. If you just bought your Deluxe, I recommend you replace the spark plugs, update your spark plug wires to the screaming eagle brand, and replace your fuel filter. It’s located in the fuel door. I guarantee the fuel filter is black and clogged up. I bet that’s why your not getting good gas mileage.
