This may be the only organ in the world that you can step into right from an elevator. Amazingly unique and cool. Thanks for sharing this beautiful instrument with us here on KZread.
Wow! What an instrument. I so appreciate Jan's spirit, knowledge, and love for this instrument. And, she's a great player!
It really does seem that Casavant build works of art as much as they build instruments.
The very last chord omg! Almost every stop on the organ. Made me chuckle and smile.
Jan is the kind of organist that gives us a good name. She’s personable, gracious, delightful and has a great knowledge of how the organ works and can explain it well. I love how passionate she is about certain stops and ensembles and uses them to fine effect. Thanks Brent for being awesome as well!

She played an entire Mother’s Day program for us yesterday here in KC. And her banter between songs couldn’t have been more charismatic. She was an utter joy. 👏🏻
Jan did an incredible job of playing and touring this Casavant organ!
The fact that the 32' pedal reed speaks directly to the room must be phenomenal to hear in person... Love it!! 😊
Great video; magnificent instrument. Every Casavant I've played is a delight. So happy they are keeping the French tradition alive. Aristide Cavaillé-Coll would be pleased, I think.
Jan Kraybill is a consummate artist, an amazing human being, and a dear friend. Thanks for inspiring us with your kindness and inspiring us to be even better organists.
Amazing instrument. Jan is masterful in everything concerning this organ. She knows it from top to bottom, and can play it magnificently. Well done, Jan, and thank you Brent, for making this available for everyone to enjoy.
Wow! Jan is a talented as I remember from a "couple" of years ago! Hello Jan! Good to hear you again. Keep going. Cheers.
This is a beautiful example of why the organ is the "King of Instruments!" This organ not only sounds amazing but it is architecturally beautiful. Fantastic!
I've been waiting for this one!!!

And it was worth it. The instrument is exceptional and Jan Kraybill is personable, professional and pure class. To have met her and sung with her in accompaniment was pure joy.
Truly an amazing instrument. Mere words cannot possibly describe it's splendor! Thanks for a wonderful video. Jan plays with such dynamic and technique!
What a wonderful cheery young lady and a fantastic robust organ! I bet that organ was the toy she always wanted as a child, but finally got into adulthood. Some of the sample chords she played gave me goosebumps! The reeds/trumpets are so powerful. Would love to get a high quality CD recording of a recital. What a beautiful instrument!

Forgot to mention. The tuning was fabulous. As an organ technician for 30+ years it always gives me a thrill to hear an instrument lock into tune on a big final chord. Bravo!!!
Jan's smile at the end of the final piece - priceless!!!!
Thank you.
What an amazing instrument. I can't stop listening. Thank you for such a lovely demonstration.
Thanks for the wonderful tonal and physical tour of this wonderful instrument. It is not real often that you get to see the interior of a really big tracker action instrument like this one. Thanks!
I’ve heard Jan Kraybill play the Auditorium organ, the Temple organ, and the Kaufman organ. There is a huge difference in these instruments but also a unifying voice among them. I like to think that voice is Jan’s. No visiting organist can match the grandiosity, the subtlety and the charm she brings to these instruments
Fantastic organ and superb, charming demonstration. Thanks for posting. Having cut my teeth on a 1967 IV/75 Casavant, some ranks sound familiar, but others are quite different.
Love this! Clearly a design leaning towards the great Aristide Cavaille-Coll, my favourite organ builder.
What an astonishing venue, and such an eccentric case.

Not my favorite facade aesthetic, but at least it doesn't look quite as chaotic as that of Disney Hall's organ!

Agreed, sir!@@organist1982
What a fantastic instrument. Versatile in every single way. I’d love to play there one day.
I just LOVE her!!!
Thanks for the demonstration, I personally love hearing music inbetween the demonstration of the manuals
What a breathtaking instrument! I had the ultimate honor of growing up with Casavant-Freres Opus 1230 installed at my hometown University. That one is in two screened chambers with no visible pipes, but THIS ONE! WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!
I was impressed by the basic Principal 8': full and clear without being tubby!
Outstanding!! Thank you.
What amazes me is that all those tracker and roller bar linkages and levers allow the valve to be opened with just the force of a finger on a key.
Amazing instrument I would love to hear it in person!!
Jan says she has no mixtures on the Grand Orgue, but the spec shows 3 (Grande Fourniture, Fourniture and Cymbale). How can that be?

I wondered the same thing. I noticed she skipped over a few other stops, such as the string and celeste on the positif. Perhaps just too many stops to keep straight on the multiple organs she plays in KC?

I was looking for this comment; I'm surprised no one else caught that.
Lovely flutes
I love your videos but I wish you would do a demonstration of the Tuti of each organ.

I have the RR recording Orchestral Organ Hybrid SACD ....its absolutely a MUST have for any serious collection
A magnificent instrument!
More Big ohne more like this !🤘
Wow, just wow!
We have a small 25 stop North German voiced Casavant in Toronto, that is SO good for Bach, organists like Peter Hurford have come over from Europe just to record on it. Considering it has no swell shutters, or even a combination action, it gives you some idea how amazing it sounds. Also, it happens to be the sister Casavant to the one used by Glenn Gould to record the Art of Fugue. That organ was destroyed by fire though. 😞
Amazing
Our Church has been decommissioned and are selling our 1935 Cassavant 350 pipe organ located in Springhill NS.
👍 Absolutely incredible organ. Is it a total tracker type organ? I can't imagine that as with the huge expanse /location of all the different pipes on 3 stories!!
Play sll the 32' and the 16' pedal reeds all at once💥🎇🎆😁
Can you play ode to joy on this organ because I want to see the roller bars on the grand orgue division moving.
Another great video story! Is Kansas City home to two of the largest mechanical action instruments in the U.S.?
No subs or supers... interesting!
Nice organ! Although with my eyes, I might need help getting to the organ. This is due to that it is so high up and I am not sure what I could hang on to without my eyes messing up. So if there is an easier way up to it, that would be great.
Interesting pronunciation of “bass” as “bus” However pronounces “bourdon” perfectly!!!! Very rare for an American.
Even piccolo on organ does not sound as crappy as the original pipe.
One of the ugliest buildings I’ve see in the outside but beautiful in the outside.
I’m disappointed. My receipt division never played any music like this one does. All mine does is tell me how much I spent and reminds me why I’m poor 😂
Was the case designed by a 5 year old?

I don't understand why modern halls feel the need to bring a "fresh" look to organ facades by making them asymmetrical and/or tacky, but at least this one doesn't look as chaotic as the facade in Disney Hall's organ!
