    I have owned this cars twin since 2012 . It is the 7th Cadillac ive owned and the first of this generation ive purchased . It has been exceedingly reliable and a performer for what it is . Nothing has broken on it and has given me no headaches . The power of the 3.6 has been excellent to have in tricky situations . I have the DVD for the Nav and its been acceptable . The bluetooth interface is extremely limited when it comes to media as you will need to buy cables to hook into your phone . I`m under the impression that Cadillac did nothing to up grade the tech from the cars inception many many years earlier which is saddening for what its price point was when new .To comment on its handling. ...for me, as owning previous generations . i would agree with what was said in the video . One pot hole....one in perfection in the road will feel like you hit a train . Very jarring . A complete contrast from Cadillac's in the 90`s /80`s/70`s and 60`s . The bigger wheels and lower profile tires i feel have alot to do with that .I would recommend the purchase of this car with lower mileage as it has been very good to me and i do have a heavy foot . cheers .

    I disagree, the deville and xts were the cars for the older crowd. The cts and sts were meant to try and attract younger buyers. Hence each model got a hot V version. The xts only got a v sport and it wasn’t great.

    Thanks for the review and info. I was hoping they made a 2012 for the tech on would've been more up to date. The 2011 is not much different than the 2008. I have the 2008, I guess I will look to the Xts or ATs..

    A lot of cost cutting by Cadillac duding this time period. My 99 STS used much higher end and aesthetically pleasing materials than this model I thought. I bought an 07 DTS after my 99 STS and the DTS never had that Cadillac feel to me. Like you said it just felt like a nicer Impala and I don’t really mean that in a good way.

    I am now considering this car due to the fact that they have depreciated like bill cosby tapes. Somehow a 2008 awd northstar sts is under $3.5k. For that its closest competition is the 05 300c and even then its a bargain.

  • @Browningate

    @MediaMart, How do you compare the 2005 DTS to say the 2008-2009 Cadillac DTS Platinum which is the top of the line Caddy for those years? Also how about a top line STS '09 to the '09 DTS Platinum?

    CTS replaces the STS. ATS replaces the CTS. Cadillac knew what they were doing. The lineup is stout.

  • @jwjones91

    @jwjones91

    9 жыл бұрын

    kdu8004 No.... The STS was a model in between the DTS and CTS. STS is not even remotely close to either of those. Cadillac is not getting rid of the CTS either I was just at the Auto Show this year where they had both the 2016 CTS-V and the ATS-V Coupe. ATS-V will be a 3.6L Twin Turbo pushing 464hp and 445tq where the CTS-V still retains the 6.2 Supercharged engine. CTS isn't going anywhere that just stupid.

    Here i'll make it clear for you. CTS replaces the STS. The ATS is replacing the CTS and the STS is disapearing. Badass enough?

  • @jwjones91

    @jwjones91

    ATS is NOT replacing the CTS I guess you're the one who cannot read. In order for the ATS to replace the CTS the CTS itself would have to stop production which Cadillac has made clear they are not doing. Run along now and know what you're talking about before trying to act like a know it all.

    I test drove one. It's a beautifully driving piece of shit, with a beast under the hood. 300 hp V6 revs so quick you barely touch the pedal and the throttle blips to 5-6 rpm. Sounds like a Ferrari when you step on it and slams you back into the seat. Did a few drifts, spinned out a few times when the tcs was on, and burned the hell out of the tires. Has an over-zealous wannabe-smart transmission that thinks it can figure out a human (adaptive), when in reality just makes the car difficult and unpredictable to drive. But you can turn it to sport mode and operates normally like that. Even though it's a piece of shit I almost want one now just so I can beat the hell out of it.

    I think it's funny when people move from Fl to the N.E to avoid hurricanes and seems like every year, them there 'canes just creep up the coast and wreak havoc on you guys, Sandy just cleared up our humidity and heat and now it's lovely, batter down them hatches, my friend and hide in your basement. Or better still, come down to Fl to avoid hurricanes. Are you gonna rent a minivan? ha ha ha!

    UGH! Gee why was GM GOING BANKRUPT? Want a really good laugh? Look at the interior of the early CADDY CTS DASH. AND ALL THE CHEAP PLASTIC LOOKING PARTS OF THE CENTER STACK and Vents. I remember looking at these and saying THAT'S A CADDY INTERIOR? Same with the DTS. I so appreciate your honesty here Tony. SPEC INFO 3.6 V6 302 HP 18/27 MPG $30K dealer retail.

    IAmLegend1776 depends on what you want. The sts would be considered the "flagship" of its day with more features and a either rear wheel drive or optional all wheel drive. The dts is bigger but not as feature packed. I like them both but like I said, depends on what your looking for.

    the sts is sort of a poor man's s-class at this point, even the 2008 version had technocrazy stuff like a full color HUD that gathers current speed limit data from your gps location, and projected turn by turn direction arrows. even the 2006 version had an adaptive cruise control system, this is on top of all the other crazy stuff. and it depreciated like you wouldn't believe, if you can stand the rather floaty ride and the awful interior design, buy this thing holy crap

    +Ryukachoo you are talking crap. This great car to drive and to own. Only idiots buy S class , because with Mercedes you overpay everything. You dont need to be poor to buy STS. You just need to value your money, and to know its stupid to throw it into sink on buying german counterparts, when you can get much better deal with STS and Hyundai Genesis for example. If you like Merc so much you can always buy logo for 10 bucks on ebay and hang it where you want.

    Diana Iglesias interior quality on the S class is on a completely different level though, the sts interior is very much gm parts bin, even if it has a TON of great features.

    Caddy has failed to attract both young and older folks, like BMW and Audi have, you cannot succeed in this market if you just cater to one age group, I mean, I have seen plenty of older folks driving Scions, a brand directed at the young people only.
