2011 Audi A6 Quattro Leaking Coolant From Reservoir

Today I'm diagnosing a leak reported by my client after we installed brand new radiator, upper hose, and 3 way Y connector from reservoir. After thoroughly checking for leaks in the radiator, all hoses, water pump, and thermostat housing I've found no major leaks. However after observing the engine and its cooling components for around 5 minutes running I noticed a drip coming from the bottom of the reservoir. I detached it from its mounting points and inspected reservoir. I found a small leak coming from the bottom and recommended to replace the reservoir. Thanks for joining me on my inspection! Make sure to get a proper diagnostic before doing any.major repairs. This customer was told their water pump was leaking but after I inspected all coolant lines, and engine i.noticed the reservoir was dripping. It's the only place I could tell was leaking any coolant.
But why was it leaking
