2011-2020 Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger Front Sway Bar Links Replacement How-To

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video will show you how to replace the front stabilizer/sway bar links on the 2011-2020 Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger. When these go bad you can usually hear a clunking noise when going over bumps and dips in the road. Sway bar links were purchased from Amazon and listed below are links to them.

Very nice video - thank you! Follow-Up - I did exactly as you did on the video and my front clunk is completely fixed. My fasteners were pretty corroded on the stabilizer link but holding the nut with a 21 mm while turning the stud with a 10 mm socket worked well. I applied Liquid Wrench a few days before the job and then applied again liberally at the time of the job. I worked the stud/nut joint back and forth (loosening and tightening 2-3 threads at a time) spraying in between and the nuts came right off doing this. I also changed out my stabilizer bar isolators. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to make such a clear and concise video! I am a retired Automotive Engineer and I too used Moog Parts - they're great!

Be sure to change out your bushings. Not sure if I seen that in your page of comment 😂

Welp, wished I seen this video before going under my car several times. I would suggest to anyone to first replace your “sway bar bushings” 1st. Those are the cheapest and easiest to install. Eliminated most of my clunk and got duralast to replace the old dried out not even 8 months old mooooog bushings 😂 moooog isn’t the best by far, I love autozone parts and they never fail me… 2nd I would replace end links and if still clunking, it’s the inner and outer tie rods, for my 2010 charger … again, I used duralast parts . 👍

Did you use rubber bushings or poly? Also did you lube the new bushings?

Hi blue collar, I don’t have the clunk noise as is common with poor links but when am driving I find it hard to maintain a straight line.. could poor links also be the the cause for this?

Is this a similar process when it comes to the rear links?

7:25 I know this may be a silly question but what does it do when you use the grease gun for these parts? Great video 💯

There’s is like a ball in there that moves with the car and the grease just lubricates it.

Normally you’ll hear a clunking noise when going over small bumps or dips especially when turning.

@@wilfredjaime1130I suggest replacing your “sway bar bushings” their rubber pieces that get worn out and dry and clunking starts there. Not neccisarely what this guy did in the video but it’s the 1st step… then this would be 2nd along with the rods being 3rd.

Sounds like maybe you have a bad tie rod or it’s out of adjustment. Most alignment shops do a free inspection.
