I just bought a that bumper and plan on doing the same... I also have an 02 with an 05-07 front clip.... I’m going to attempt some fabrication work to get it to sit back a little more... I think the biggest concern of mine is the gaps at the bottom corners of the grill... but looks sweet man good shit

That piece that you were wondering what it is it's for the crash bar but it appears you dont have one on your truck idk why because you should to hold the frame together instead of the bumper holding your frame together

At the 2.0 min mark you show the holes of a missing crossmember. Its removed and saved when installing a plow. You mentioned that point. In the Fisher / Western plow mount instructions and on a label on the crossmember, its written that this crossmember must be saved and transferred with the vehicle for replacement if the plow mount is removed. It is apparently a critical safety component and needs to be reinstalled if plow mount is removed. Something to consider looking into. I am not a safety Karen and often engage the safety squint while welding :) The amount of labels and warnings make me feel this frame crossmember is very important for the front end. Great video. It turns out later I looked at a stock truck crossmember and my leaf springs for the lift would hit where the bar goes.

It can be done but that isn't it my friend, you need to make yourself brackets that drop it down and suck in that bumper in so it goes under the headlights at least 3/4? under the headlights. I see some people also cut the bottom filler on the old bumper and blackout the gaps then it looks original. To be honest the original bumper looks better than the new ones when you do the grill overlay color match the trim and install a light bar in the center fog light slot.

Mcnasty customs makes the brackets you need for 40.00 bucks
