2010 to 14 Shaker 1000 amp harness to RCA

making a connection from aftermarket head units sub out to shaker 1000 stock amp for trunk mounted subs. The aftermarket head unit appears to be compatible with stock harnesses (with adapters) but does not fire the subs in the trunk. After working with tech support, we could not get the issue resolved (despite their good effort). We decided to just make the connection directly. Could not locate the sub speaker wires in the dash harness... decided to RCA out from the head unit and run wires into the trunk where we could easily connect to the factory amp "in". This allowed the use of pretty much all factory wiring and made the sub connection super easy.

view video at 1:20. there is a wire directly "above" the power wire. You can use a voltmeter to test this by grounding the voltmeter and placing the red terminal onto the wire. the wire should be "HOT" when the headunit is on and "cold" when the unit is off. Always verify your connections with a voltmeter to prevent damage and that you have the correct wire.

Is this the same color code on the 2005?

not entirely sure. I believe the 05-14 are the same. if you have a voltmeter, you can probe the wires from the harness with the power off, then on, that will confirm the power and ground (usually larger wires). with the ignition power on, but the radio off, probe the wires for which one gives a signal once the radio is turned on. this should be the "trigger" or AMP signal out. all that does is tell the amp to turn on. the remaining two will be the speaker wires. the wire with the stripe should be the negative. even if the colors are different, you can trace which wire does what with the meter.
