I don't agree ! Elantra 2010 is the best and not boring !! , Elantra 2011-13 has silly exterior design ,,,interior is better , yes ,,,but exterior and powertrain is too bad compared to 2010 version !! with some modification to Elantra 2010, u will get the best elantra ever !!

@zakyum on cheaper cars they have started to just add a warning light for when your engine is too hot

How is 0.25 litre ? Just the base model, Elantra ( not marking ), 2010 with 70,000 km selling for CAD 8,000 ? Is that a good price ? Thank you.

The new Elantra is a huge improvement. It's the best value small car around.

I first had one of these from 2010 until 2014 when it got totaled in a side collision car accident. I replaced it with a used 2013 Elantra from Carmax. After a year with it, I wasn't crazy about the mechanical nature of it compared to the 2010 so as crazy as it may sound to go backwards, I traded that in for another 2010 SE I was able to find. From then to the present, I still have it. Obviously, of course, the redesigned Elantra (2013) had incredible exterior and interior styling, a little more trunk room, and much more updated interior features and cup holders compared to that of the 2010. That was all good, but I did not like the ultra light steering feel of it, a little more sluggish acceleration, less headroom in the back for guests, and no spare tire in the trunk, just a patch kit and pump enclosed. Even if the 2010 has partially weird rounded and boring exterior styling with limited, outdated interior features, I like the interior room that the car has. The backseat space is plentiful with lots of leg room and headroom for guests, the stereo system and speakers provide a wide range of volume, there is a spare tire with a jack in the trunk, nice esc action in the winter, the steering feel is a more nice medium feel than the following redesigned generation, and the acceleration is not as sluggish as the Elantras of the following generation. The only real negative it has is its on and off bouncy ride because of its stiff sport suspension. However, I've been getting used to that, though.

I test drove a 2010 and a 2013 back to back. The 2010 has better low end torque and a calmer demeanor to how it shifts. The 4 speed auto felt better than the 6 speed in the 2013. I really enjoyed the 2010 GLS and would have bought it except the dealer won’t budge on price. It needs a timing belt, it’s 32k miles in 2022 and the belt has never been changed adding to the cost which is almost 1k. If the dealer lowered the price even 400 due to that it’s a done deal.

Aww my first car. White with 40k miles on it. Not fast or sexy but it did have a fantastic (factory) stereo and the hvac worked wonders year round. Great first car for anyone! Not too fast or flashy, safe and reliable. I love my new Civic but this little buddy will always have a place in my heart 😌

@lexusES350h I would tend to agree with you on that basis. This Elantra was supposed to still follow that same ol "eco car" recipe: little car, little engine, slow, feels cheap. I want to see the new Elantra SO BAD when it comes out possibly at the beginning of next year.
