@DivergentButton It has a single merging turbo manifold that somehow encompasses all cylinders from both heads, and each bank's manifold (section) merges into a split twin-scroll exhaust housing; I don't know why they don't just show an animation instead of try to confuse us...... I want to see the animation for that.

if you look at M5boarddotcom's channdel they brought out an x5M that beat an M5 touring in a straight line. It also beat an M3 initially until it lost on areodynamics.

your right the touring car did win. I guess i just remembered it wrong. I didn't say the M3 lost to the X5M, it just lost initial half from 30-100 or so. After the speeds increase it sped by.

@eeeen321 Okay, so cylinder 1 &6 have a common manifold and 4&7 have one, those two manifolds feed one turbo, while 2&3 have one and 5&8 have one, feeding the other turbo. So each turbo is fed by 2 cylinders from each bank. And....BMW does it because they can, and if I had the money I would buy one.

People need to stop hating, this car has the same appeal as the Hummer and Escalade does. All 3 has no practical use, but at the same there will always be a market for them. And the X5 and X6M at least are fast unlike the Hummer and Esclade, why the hell would you not want one?

I admit that the car is not that impressive in pictures/video, but driving the car is an amazing experience.

I was talking about the X6, not the X5. They make way more X5's and they talk about the X6 like it's not even going to be around. I specifically asked them that. They think it's too expensive and too unique.

I've talked to some people that work at the factory. They aren't really as talkitive about the X6 as the X5 since they don't make many.

the biggest problem with the X6 M is the X5 M....cheaper, better looking, more practical, more comfortable, yet just as powerful and just as fast! sorry FLD, but you missed a big point here!

I say that this car is definitely not pointless. A two door coupe is pointless. At least this car can take four and put some luggage in... But i'm not saying i don't want roadsters. I'm just responding to all the trolls ranting about how this car sucks when they've never driven it.

car sound great and has great power and features, but mpg is horrible and puts this car in a weird market. It sucks gas and has a ground clearance of an SUV, but with the storage/utility of a car. So it's a lifted car (like the eagle car's of the 80's) I'm sorry but I don' t think this car will be around very long, unless MPG = car MPG, or this car takes on EVO's and STI's on rally racing.

The problem with this car is that it is trying be good at everything, and as a result it is okay at most things......meaning it is essentially pointless, especially at its price tag.

why is this a good car? its too heavy to be a sports car, or even a gt, and its too small and has too poor visibility to be an SUV. if you want a fast SUV, get an X5M, its pretty much the same car, just with more room and better visibility.

Really this car is not anything like he described it. You want an honest review on the car? Look at top gear's review. My freind has one of these, it is fast, cheap, has an awful ride, it is uncomfortable, it is extremely small inside, no leg room, and is way to complicated.This car is a waist of 100k. By the way I prefer the Corvette's heads up displace over the x6m.
