I replaced the front strut assembly on my 2012 Mazda 3 Skyactiv, and it was not a large problem besides traveling with a damaged strut assembly and having a knock and lean. It was not really a challenging part to replace as I did not have to remove extra components to get to it. Overall, it was an easy strut assembly to replace, and I would recommend also spraying penetrating oil on it prior to removing. It can aid in the disassembly process.
