CarsandCameras get a 8 ball shift knob then get a old Hurst shifter

Use an old piston out of a weed eater for a shifter knob

Get some heavy duty RC servos and rig up a way to use them for shifting and have your paddle shifter

Mercruiser forward-neutral-reverse shifters have a switch that momentarily kills the ignition while shifting the dog clutch...

Better idea: put a semi auto 5 speed 230cc 4 stroke. No clutching required its a centrifigul clutch so all you do is let off gas and shift then get back on the gas. Thats what I'm building now. The semi auto is the way to go

@IndyHelis after riding motorcycles for most of my life I know that blipping on the downshifts is needed to "nicely" downshift a constant velocity gearbox hence the kit doing this for the user. Also upshifts can be done without the clutch by simply timing the shift to slip through the slack between power on and power off. You get used to it after a while.

That thing is insane! I'm currently building a shopping cart go kart with a 250cc and I'm so stoked to get it finished this summer

Definitely needs a beer tap handle mounted to the floor on a pivot and a linkage to the shifter spline. Oh, I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but once you get a solid shifter setup you shouldn't need the clutch to shift - just let off on the throttle. Awesome build!

My favorite part of this video was when you said that the rail cart was built to heavy. I thought that every time you guys would weld more 1/4 inch plate on. But it is still a very bad ass dragster. Not many would have even tried to build one, including myself.

i got a kick out of the look in youre eyes when you opened it up i had to try and warn you guys that motor has a lot of power on the low end not for the untrained it could kill someone if they lost controll great job you guys man that is cool as hell well you know what i mean i like it

Don't need to use the clutch all the time, that motor has a sequential gear box, to upShift just ease off on the throtle and pull the lever. Downshifting it is best to use the clutch or you will start to break things. Looks great fun to drive , keep it up guys.

Just make it paddle shift. Its out of the way, more comfortable, and much easier to use. Also you don't have to take your hands off the wheel. I know its not as cool but its so dangerous with a suicide shift. Yeah but whatever.

Its not a suicide shifter. Its a suicide clutch, because you had to keep your foot on the clutch and your other on the ground. People would start to tip to the left, take their foot off the clutch and get launched into traffic.

If it will hit 120, I recommend finding a wide open road. Loosing control at high speed fiddling with that shifter and slamming into one of the multitude of trees lining your road could be disasterous.

Love it. Sweet five speed.

You need to just get a shifter like a shifter kart, they have made that shifter to be the most useful it can be, having your elbows tucked close to your stomach is the safest and most efficient anyway. If it was me i'd be copying what the pros do.

Try putting a 250 ninja motor on a kart...I did 😂 talk about scary.. 39 horsepower on a 150lb go kart

I have a Suzuki gsxr 750 engine +130hp efi that I was thinking of using on a go kart but I think I would go crazy and end up crashing I looked into bigger 2 seater off road go karts maybe would be better suited for a big engine

Diamond plate still works. Paint it flat black if it's too much bling. How about a very short shifter lever down by your right hip or thigh? Will the shifter fit between your legs? Am I getting too personal?

I like everything, if i were to change 2 things would be a removable steering wheel. Make it easier to get in and out.

I have 2 old 4AGE camshafts. I can tap one out to M12x1.25 at the pulley end and throw a shift knob on top of one for you. Then just cut it down if it’s too long and make it work 👌🏼

What do u mean? He finished he snow bike, the half skateboard/engine thing he finished. And it ran mint. He scraped a few jobs because he is a solo mechanic and he cit his losses so that he could bring in better content. They were good ideas, but the bmw failed and generally people do not want to watch someone figure out how to fix something thats not worth fixing.

Behind a small Chrome cap is an oil filter screen held in by a spring it needs to be cleaned out every oil change. Adjust the needle and put in bigger main jet 2 Fix flat spot. Worked for me.90mph? Love the build keep up the good work!

My favorite part is the way it revs up and down like a race car. There's practically no time at all for it to spin back down to idle and I think that's just one of the coolest sounding things an engine can do

My favorite part is the whole build. I love it. Can't wait till it finished and you get it on a longer safer road and get to open it up and see how fast it goes. Need to get it on a track oval or road course would be better bet it handles like a dream. See you Wed God Bless!!!

Gear lever and clutch lever should both me under the steering wheel. Having the 3 pedals so close to each other is sketchy and not really safe. Also with both levers under steering wheel you gain more room to get in and out of the kart.

Hey guys I'm from Costa Rica and we here have those specific motors here for almost every motorcycle, I mean, the motor is exactly exactly the same one, since those are some pretty good motors there are a LOT of replicas down here, and Also people heavily modify them, again in a motorcycle, but I have seen some people that changes the piston and the lever the valves and I even seen people put a 70 mm piston diameter on those... they made up to 26 hp, once again in a motorcycle... think about that in the weight of a go kart, there is So much room on those motors to modify you guys will never think about IT...! Excelent Work by the way :-D PS: my own motorcycle I have Rev it up to 12,000 RPM with the original Taq

I have a good friend that uses a flight simulator joystick for a pc for his shift Handel... looks and works great... he took full advantage of the extra buttons for his kill switch and pump... just a thought could be nice. Thank you guys for the channel it’s so fun and I am still learning a ton from you guys

Suggestions for your shop. bolt the vice to something heavy. bolt the bench grinder to a bench. when plasma cutting the diamond plate cut from the smooth side. Suggestions for the 5 speed killer cart larger sprocket on the axle. This will give more of the line power and you probably don't need as much top end speed If the diamond plate is too flashy for you paint it and then scuff off the paint on the pattern. heat shield on the motor Great videos.
