2009 Land Rover Freelander No-Crank B10A2 Crash Input

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This 2009 Land Rover Freelander was towed in for a no-crank condition. There was no response when pressing the start button. Was able to scan 11 controllers even though the ignition appeared dead. Both the ECM and BCM reported a code B10A2 Crash Event. Clearing codes did not clear the code in the BCM. Found a special function in the BCM to clear the Crash Event. The damage to the left front bumper was done over a year ago when the vehicle hit a dear so is not related. I believe the problem was caused by a dead battery (the vehicle was sitting for several weeks), and trying to boost with another low power source. There is a TSB from Land Rover to reflash the BCM for this but that's not going to happen any time soon...

Thanks for informative video Phillip I'll remember that! I find Snap on very good on JLR vehicles although Autel could probably do the same but it doesn't give you the help like Verus. I hear autologic is very capable as well cheers sandy

We don't get many of these Land Rovers here. Not that popular. I've only worked on 4 or 5 of them. Thanks for the comment. Cheers...

Does the solus ultra run the same sort of software, would it also have this reset crash data feature?

It should but it might depend on release date of the software. Unfortunately there is no easy way to tell until you're plugged into the vehicle. An Autel scanner may do this as well. HTH

You need a full function scanner to clear that code. An OBD2 code scanner will not do it for you. Try an Autel or Thinkdiag tool but no guarantees. There was a special function in the BCM that Reset Crash Data.

I RESET THE CODE B10A2 (CRASH INPUT), IN MY LANDROVER LR2 2008, THE VEHICLE JUST START AND OFF ON IT OWN, THE SCAN AGAIN IT WAS SHOWING ME C0138

C0138 is related to an ABS problem. What year make and model are you working on. What module is reporting this code and what scanner are you using to get the code? Are there any warning lights or messages on the dash?

I used a Snapon Verus Edge running 20.2 software. I would think an Autel Maxysys would do it but can't confirm. You could try disconnecting the battery cables for an hour. Connect the pos and neg cables together to drain capacitors quickly. That might work. Good luck.
