Wow, so I went change mine and found this video. Thanks! Took the cover off& decided there’s no way I’m doing surgery ( Or should have to do) to replace an air filter if it was supposed to be replaced to start with. I put the cover back on an decided to just hold out till I can go from 14-24.

I have a 2014 GMC Yukon SLT. It's the same. I used a multi tool with a saw blade to cut the long cuts and a razor knife to cut the ends. It was still a PITA. The filter wasn't ez to insert either, PITA. WHEN CUTTING THE INSERT COVER OUT, JUST BE SURE TO ALWAYS POINT THE CUTTER TIP AWAY FROM THE CONDENSER. GM must have saved billions of dollars in filter costs, AND dealers made millions to cut and install for the cabin filter. THANKS GM.

thank you hermano!!!! i recommend that you spray some foam coil cleaner on the evaporator coil. because if it remains dirty not only will your ac not work efficiently, you and your loved ones will be breathing in potential molds and bacteria!!!!

Good video , i just did mine today "escalade ext 07" and there was no filter in it from factory , a litle dirty not too much , the onlt hard time was to remove the screw on the very left side , the rest was easy

Question.. people are complaining why they didn't put a cabin filter in, but one not ask the question, were they attempting to eliminate that part of the car or purposely ignore it so it becomes a problem later? Hence people falling ill overtime while driving in the car? One cannot sue them for such health hazard basically?

You didn't have to remove the plastic cover all the way from the left side. You had enough space to work on the filter. Especially that it comes bent. It's bent for a reason. And the reason is......SO YOU DON'T TAKE OUT THE BLACK COVER CAUSE IT'S A BITCH TO PUT IT BACK.

Mine must not have one in it either. It smelled like old man and smoke smell in it. Now that I know how to change I will reply to later if mine has it or not, but mine is a 13 avalanche. The Escalade, Yukon, Tahoe and Avalanche share same parts. All owned by GM!! Those mother fuckers!

Changing the cabin air filter on my 2002 Chevy Tahoe is similar but much easier. Why would they seal it shut without a filter? Huge oversight.

QLF Productions i ask a cadillac dealers mechanic why i have other cars smoke strongly coming in into my car and he told the cabin filted may no be holding that anymore, but a got shack when i saw it didn’t have one !.

I just found out same problem on my 2008 Hummer H2 no air filter cabin ..

I bet it's the same thing with the Suburban since we have been unable to find a filter in it. I think they are basically the same car.

They didnt forget my 2012 has no cabin filter and I cant find a mention of it in owners manual

Bro. That was not equipped from factory with a cabin air filter...nobody forgot..u modafiedthe box and just added on....my 04 dosent have one.as a kid are cars had no cabin air filters...lol

Gm only left it out to save money? You sure there isn't another reason? Maybe this car doesn't need it?

Eli Arriaza lo mas bueno de esto es, que le pregunte a un mecanico certificado de la cadillac.. porque sentia humo dentro de mi carro si tenia el air corriendo en sirculacion rotatia y no aire de afuera y el fue que me sujerio cambiar el filtro del aire para que mejorara la retencion de aires de afuera, y mi sorpresa fue que ni tenia !. 😂

Had to do the same crap with my 2009 Escalade Hybrid. This cabin air filter problem is truly a disappointment from the "Cadillac" of cars.

A disappointment? Why not a complain, lawsuit or mass soundoff of such a problem. They knew what they were doing.. it sounds like they assume most folks won't figure it out. Its not even a normal part to change in any autoshops.. Meaning they don't carry it.. you have to order it. I was looking for it after changing both the air and cabin filter on another car... I attempted to find both for my escalade and they only carried the air filter. And here I am.. looking for its location so I can change it later.

I do always press it, every time i turn the a/c is on outter to inner air, and i switch to inner rotation only and still comes in !.

GM.....THE FRIENDLY FOLKS WHO GAVE US GAS ENGINES WITH DIESEL HEADS MOTOR, AND WERE THE LAST COMPANY TO MAKE INTERMITTENT WIPERS STANDARD, & PUT MID-SIZED CAR AUTO TRANSMISSIONS IN THEIR FULL SIZED CARS...LOTZA PROBLEMS !
