I have a 2008 one of these in New Zealand on a farm and I guess if you want a long term test mine has now got 43000km and 3500hours. Good reliable solid atv. Replaced belt at 30000km ,1 set front disks, lots of brake pads ,new rear cvs and 3rd set of tires. Pretty good considering it works every day around 3-4 hours a day. Don't get tricked by these 10 hour oil changes we have 4 Yamahas including a Kodiak 400 with 5200 hours and we chage oil at 150 hours and none of these atvs have had engine work done.

Very impressive Brett.
Yamaha is the way to go
Had a 700 suzuki quard king with Moose Plow and a lot of accessories, loved th e4 wheel dr, system with the lock up. it plowed snow almost as good as my pick up! It appeared to be the same as Yamaha's you are showing as these two are the best on the market.
Cou*= could handle those kinds of conditions the best?
I have a grizzly 700 2009 now loving it
nah you be alright they are made for anywone to ride no mater what age i started on a rancher 420 when i was 9 and frist when i was 8 i rode a honda 250sx there wheeler you will be fine if you just go slow at first and get used to the machine they are very simple machines to ride
I personally like the Carlisle Badlands XTRs. They handle well, are easy on the wallet, and will get you up most hills and through moderate mud areas without much trouble. They also wear very well. I've had a set on my 'Cat 400 for about 400 miles and there's a still alot of tread left on them.
Like how because the grizzly has higher ground clearnce fuel tank and better riding like smoother
Thanks! You guys are great !
whats the best set of light wight radials that are good all around tire
@BushMast3r9000 The Grizzly and the King Quad are two of our favorite ATVs.
@ATVTVCOM ok. But is the 2009 better than the 2008 ??
I need a four wheeler thats gonna last for a while, which one lasts longer a honda rincon or a yamaha grizzly??????? please respond and what is good about the grizzly???? what is good about the honda rincon??? please respond
Thanks
An open differential allows each wheel to turn at different speeds - which means that if one wheel spins the other gets no traction. A limited slip differential has a clutch type mechanism that attempts to keep traction to the other wheel when one spins. A locking/locked/locker 'locks' both wheels so they each spin the same speed so if one wheel loses traction the other still has the same traction as before.
I like the upgrade on the one in the show room there where they use a gas can for a front bumper.
Do You Think a Grizzly 700 Would be Good for me? Im 15 and 6'1 And 230 Lbs..
Up to the intakes - about to the bottom of the seat - but you may still get some water leakage into the CVT and it will need drained afterwards.
@thomas555100 Yeah,if you want to ride on the road.
While a video on some mechanical repairs like valve adjustment or even ring replacement might be a good thing, rebuilding an entire engine might be quite a task to video.
Good job on your video I liked it very much!
@variofever We find just the opposite - the 660 was very tall and tippy compared to the newer, revised 700s. But of course they still need a set of radial tires to make them handle better.
The Carlisle ACTs, hands down. But they wear fast! The newer Black Rocks may be almost as good and wear a lot better. Otherwise you move up in weight to something like the ITP Terra Cross or the STI Black Diamond.
A lot of people just seem to overlook the effects of (unsprung) weight on their machine - especially something as light as an ATV. BTW: The stock wheels are much lighter than any aftermarket wheels, and 12" are lighter than 14" !
I believe that they were 26-8x14 front and 26-11x14 rear. I have come to prefer the 12" diameter tires because they are lighter (rubber is lighter than aluminum), and as we did on our later projects run the stock wheels. They are lighter than any aftermarket wheels plus have less offset so they affect the steering less and stay under the fenders to keep you cleaner ;-) Mention ATVTV when you set up the Works shocks as our are a way softer build than typical.
@TheQuadrider777 The Grizzly 700 is a great ATV - especially with EPS.
We projected it (See our project video for the details) and then sent it home when the year was up.
That is it! I think we have a video on the Project Grizzly - check our website as the video are way better categorized there.....Basically though the softer, lower Works Performance shocks and a set of radial tires.....My favorite ATV I've ever rode!!! And I've ridden a few ;-)
Low range will be great for that.
Where are u located?
@mtross70 One of the best! My personal favorite is the King Quad with EPS. Several reasons I cover in our Blogs and our videos on our website.
They are both very good at towing. The Foreman would be better simply because it has a straight axle...THat means it does not squat with the weight.
Not sure what you are referring to but we love the Grizzly. Perhaps you can overlook the few flaws because you own the machine - we merely test it....
these things are insane and scary at high speeds out of corners, the 660 was lower to the ground and more stable i found
@BushMast3r9000 Depends on for what? I like the LTZ400, YFZ450, and the Raptor best for the dunes. The YFZ450 and LTR450 best for track.
@IWModerator no ur not...
Btw I always wanted to know which company makes the best sport quads, what do you think is good, can am renegade, 700 raptor , yfz450 , Honda 700xx etc
@gunmaster45 Our Grizzly performed perfectly. The Rincon has a better tranny for mudding but in every other form of riding we feel the Grizzly is a better machine. Unless you require 27 inch tires for mudding I'd stay with 26" - they work the best without rodding too much power.
like rough track, crossing big rocks tight corners ups and downs, rivers streams, ( this is when you need a utility atv) but I was just wondering which one cou
In your opinion how do you think the grizzly is compared to other companies?
would you think the interco reptile tires would go well with the grizzly
@IxsnipeddxI The Bf if power steering isn't an issue.
thanks thats nice knowing because I dont want a heavy tier to rob power and make it just suck gas
Not if you keep the sizes within reason - like no taller than 26" on 12" wheels.
never said about the plastic tranny tht blows constantly my friend spends more money repairing it than he spent buying it
i want a 400-500cc ATV which one would you reccomend Yamaha or Polaris?
how is the grizzly for towing? like compared to a honda foreman? or did you do any hauling with the griz?
How wide were the front and rear tires in this test? I would like to set my 550 up just like this. Looks awesome! I am getting the 550 for the longer range on trail rides around Ouray, Colorado.
@thomas555100 In your opinion of course, right?
Will the Terra Cross tires rob a lot of power from the Grizzly 700
Hey what's better grizzly 700 or brute force 750
exactly
What have you done to your griz? Mine runs like a dream, kicks the hell out of my buddys brute in the mud, and better on fuel. And never bangs when switchin in and out of 4 and diff lock. Ya they run hot, that's the only downfall on the bike. What year is yours?
whats the diffrents between ,diff lock and normal 4x4?
@BushMast3r9000 Southern California and Utah mountains
@IWModerator i ride one and im 15. i weigh 250 and with my weight i can throw it where ever i want. it goes everywhere
@ATVTVCOM well, by the time i get one i will be 14 or 15 and how am i too young for that machine as far as im concerned if i can reach the controlls and handle the power than im old enough foor that machine
How deep of water can the grizzly 700 go through in water with stock parts and wheels?
@ATVTVCOM whats the difference to the grizzly 2008 to the 2009 model ??
Hi Doug ! listen I'm just Curious why you didn't mention anything about changing your clutch when you add on bigger tires and rims , which I believe it's a very important thing you left out you talked about shocks , wheels , rims , tires etc but no clutch kit upgrade we all know that those rims and tires are much bigger than stock.

Raul Venegas I'm not a big fan of clutch modifications. If the clutch package is strong (and the Grizzly is) it can stand the added weight and diameter of the wheels and tires. In my opinion in this case it actually improves the clutch's performance...

thank you Doug ! I'm just learning about these things in order to be better informed.
I would imagine. All I can ask is why?
Hi there ATVTV! i have a simple question: what exactly was done to that Grizzly on the video? just a lower/softer susp, wheels and tires? thanks!
And it is?
I would but Maxxis Zillas on a Grizzly
@IWModerator You're the right size, but I think you need to be at least 16 to ride it legally. Perhaps 18.
@MegaMyballs ITP.
Except that we are not mudders and feel that tires that tall make trail machines far too tippy, rob too much power, and wear our drivetrain components too fast.
Do you have tights and a cape ? ;-)
That's a pretty scary thought ;-) Maybe Ms Zombiecakes could ;-)
would you rcomend the grizzly 550 for a 13 year old
i know irs vs sra haha i tow with an arctic cat 300 now its geared like a tractor with 126:1 in super low 1st gear. i was just thinking about the motor and transmission on the 700 is it alright for towing? I dont really mind the squatting that much not much of a problem for me i normally have negative tounge weight which sucks lol. my trailer isnt long enough and my loads are extremely long lol.
@xxxthorexxx253 My top three are the King Quad, the Grizzly, and the Brute Force. My favorite is the King Quad 700 and 750 EPS.
@toaster380 That was what I think the law 'should' be not what it is!
@IxsnipeddxI Watch our two tests and them compare what I say about them. The BF has a much smoother engine and transmission.
What are the tires on it?

ITP Terra Cross
@midwesternoutdoors Watch our reviews on each. You can find them easiest on our website. Simply put we love the Grizzly and think the tranny and no low range on the Rincon is ridiculous.
I have found all of what you just stated to be false with my grizzly
tell me about it i wish i could have his job that would be the best job in the world getting paid to drive atv's i like the grizzly 700
@teryx98 Yamaha
@989kriss None
@SUPERSPARTA41 Nope. You're too young for that machine.
Sorry, not familiar with them.
@thomas555100 grizzly kills the honda hands down
I am staying with stock wheels. How I see it is why buy nice expensive wheels, its on an atv not a car. These bikes go in mud, rocks and alot of other nasty places. If I buy after market wheels they would be dull looking bead locks
