Have a 2012 Daytona 675r and a 2014 Rocket III. Absolutely love them both. Fantastic bikes.

This is the best review of a Rocket III. I have owned three so far. I always refer people to this video when I go to sell one.

For riding long distance-you want a big bike. Approaching fast semi trucks won't blow you off the road. I've experienced it once and that was all it took to get a big bike. These things are great . After riding one of these-the Harley went by by.

Completely agree. Being next to a semi on a sportbike is not fun lol.

I have 2006 rocket3 ride on new zealand roads it handles like a dream I don't find it had to handle at all when stop. The only thing I thought they could have put on it was a reverse gear

A bloke i know fitted a garett turbo on his . Then for good measure threw a bottle of nitrous oxide on as well . He did it because as a mechanic , he could . He describes the power as blissfully powerfull . His car is a bog stock 2015 toyota corolla auto . Makes sense ay . Cheers all . From Queensland Australia .

I own a 2012 R3 and I disagree that it's difficult to hold when stopping. I feel that it's well balanced, but I wonder if there were any significant design improvements between an 08 and the 12, though. However, I have to say that this is THE bike for big guys. I'm 6'4 and about 220, so this bike feels "right". I'm not cramped and I don't feel like an adult on a childs bike. I just fit. I can't say I'd recommend anyone under 6'0 getting this bike. Big toys for big boys!

It was difficult for me simply because I wasn't accustomed to riding something that weighs 800+ lbs lol. I'm used to light and flickable and that riding style doesn't work on this behemoth. That's all

Andrew C The first time I sat on my 2016 I expected it to be top heavy and a bear to hold up. Much to my surprise its quite the opposite. I can sit on it in the driveway with both feet on the ground and no hands on the bars with ease. The low center of gravity makes all the difference in the world. So different from my Harley Fatboy.

I'm 68, 5'7'' and weak compared to when I was young. I put 30K miles on my 2018 in 3 summers. I'm used to Harley baggers so the Rocket is easy for me. Best bike I've owned.

Very funny review, but the reason the bike moves whilst revving at standstill is because of the longitudinally mounted crank. BMW's twins and Moto Guzzi's do exactly the same with half the torque. And the Rocket has been in production since 2004 the Thunderbird 1600/1700 came along 5 years later.

I love my R3. Its a presance on the road. People even now stand and take pics never seeing one before. Woman grabbing cameras to take pics in the street and I'm not talking just younger woman either. Lots of older blokes also standing in amazement. Feels a bit freeky To be honest.

2008's are 140bhp not 148. The Roadster version, 2010 onwards, are 146bhp or 148PS (metric horsepower) i think that's where the confusion comes from

I rode a Rocket III the first year they came out. I'm short. Found the bike to be very nimble, easy to handle and maneuver. I would like to point out, I also have had joint replacements in both legs so a well balanced bike is vital. He had trouble at 6'3"? Why?

Not alot of experience with +800 lb motorcycles. Every bike I've ridden before that was half the Rocket III's weight. Just wasn't used to it lol.

I bet you wouldn't have any problem at all, with the weight of this bike, if you were to own one for a couple of weeks. As a matter of fact, a guy your size should have an advantage on bigger bikes.

100%. Going from a 410 lb bike to a 800 lb one had a bit of a learning curve lol. If I review the newer one sometime in the future, I would retcon that statement lol
