Great vid. My first time doing this yesterday and today. Been having trouble with wheel bearing not separating from axle but I will use your trick with tapping those studs out. You have great tools. I love that Stanley you showed. And great torque tools I need to buy those.

Wheel bearings seem to be a common problem! Timken are made in China now,I just did one on a ford escape!! No USA etched in that one ether!! Damn shame, probably won't last near as long, time will tell!! Thanks pete!!

Pete, another good and informative video. Especially with all the damaged roads and hiways around me, anything to do with wheels, struts, hubs etc is a good video to learn from for a DIY repair. For a 2008, that Lucerne looks in damn good shape, wondering how many miles?

Thank you Mister Green, the car has 127228 mile and yes it is not to bad. My customer wants to fix everything on that car the most major thigs first and then we will focus on the little stuff. Yes our roads around here are not the greatest either, road construction season will be underway soon. Thanks for watching.

Great job Pete! I'm pretty sure that Timken wheel hub bearings are now made in China. How well does the Fluid Film hold up over time? I know Eric O @ South Main Auto is a big fan of it. I've always applied a thin coat of anti seize to the wheel hub centers and CV joint splines.

We definitely need to bring our companies back to the USA, shame on them. Yes fluid film will need reapplication after a certain amount of time, but I normally don't apply anything to the splines unless they are showing rust like this one or are just plain tight fitting. Thanks for watching.

Did you say 33MM for the axle nut? Thought it was 34…. Anyone know, as I have to buy one for the job

Yes I double checked mine was 33mm and it did look like the factor nut.

Dumb question, but is the axle nut staked, or can I reuse it?

No it is not staked. I reused this nut. I never had a problem reusing the axle nuts. Thanks for watching.
