    I was able to use a stubby 18" wrench to reach the top of the rear shock bolts. This comment may help a viewer from having to remove those long rusty bolts that you had trouble removing with your impact wrench.

    Is it necessary to replace the shock absorbers in the front axle together even if the other is in good condition? Knowing that the car has covered 100,000 miles

    Quick question/observation/comment. I was taught to remove the large axle nut, and tap the axle loose from the bearing. This keeps the possibility low for the axle popping loose from the tranny. Any thoughts? I have done it both ways, but, I have heard this can be an issue with some vehicles...especially the Chrysler.

    Not a vid on the net is being done right. After you put the van back on the ground you are suppose to torque the top shaft nut to 70 ftlbs. Every strut replacement has to be torques it is not done at the factory. The factory simple tightens it enough to hold it together.

    The holes on top of the struts don't line up. Did they give me the wrong ones or is there anyway I wan line them up?

    Why not replace sway bar end links, as they wear quickly on these vehicles

    @@OvalboreTech so I think I was confused by the spring and air suspension in the rear. Does that need to be changed also with the shock ?

  • @OvalboreTech

    I am unaware of any T&C with self leveling air suspension.. If that does exist though, I would expect that the shock absorber itself would be the same or similar, and the air spring would just replace the coil spring

    Kinda should like to see how you took out those bolts, especially the sway bar Link as behind of mine are round and can't get a wrench on them, also did you air hammer the bolts out? Like this is kind a useless video dude.

    On a Chrysler Town and Country, I personally advise replacing the links if replacing the struts. They wear out quickly, and if over 100,000 miles, might as well do it while you have it apart. They do not cost much.

  • @mentuck101

    Does it need a wheel alignment after ??? What do you think

  • @OvalboreTech

    @OvalboreTech

    6 жыл бұрын

    Typically no. just replacing the struts should not change the caster, camber or toe significantly enough to warrant an alignment. That being said, If it has been a while since the last alignment, it would be a smart move.
