+Leanna Ramnarine the time will not display on the COMAND screen, but only on the analog clock located in the gauge cluster. The cup holders automatically light up when the car senses that night has fallen or whenever the car is in a dark setting such as a garage.

Do you still own this car? I'm curious about long term maintenance. Any issues with the air suspension or transmission? I'm picking one up for very cheap and I'm worried it could leave me stranded. Any advice?

Around $240 a month, full coverage, but it all depends on what company you chose, age, gender, etc.

Jems Diaz honestly, this SUV has been wonderful as long as u find one that has been maintained well, it won't hurt your pockets too much. However, it is a Benz so maintenance is expensive. The last thing it was in the dealership for service was an oil change. All struts and air suspension components have been riding great since they were replaced. But to answer your question, while I experienced suspension issues, it was at the shop every 3-4 months but after getting everything changed, it's been pretty reliable for the most part. Let me know if u have any more questions.

Its a sensor for the key fob to lock and unlock the car.

Aamir Khan i recommend getting a face lifted version because MOST of the issues are solved with the later models compared to the earlier models. I’ve had a couple issues, but it still rides and runs great simply because I have done my best to maintain it.

Do you still have the car? Is it pretty reliable.. I'm starting college and wanted to get the same one with 150k miles

mr cocaine Yes I still have the car. Mine now currently has about 120k. It's been pretty reliable over the years. If you find one with maintenance records, I say go for it. These are still great cars if they've been maintained well and correctly and they are now priced pretty low too. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the car.

How can I put this car into neutral without the keys?

do the parking censor turn off by itself? because mine does not work

The parking sensors are automatically turned on when place in reverse or drive, and they turn off as you accelerate. There's a button shown in the video that can activate and deactivate the parking sensors.

does all GL has airmatic or normal coil spring suspension becouse on this model i don’t see the button near the heating seats that moves the car up and down. I want to purchase one !

Dee Greatest i’m ordering a GL 450 on IAAI that has this problem practically the car is down completely I will convert the airmatic of the GL with the coil spring of a ML w164 I know these two cars share the same platform. I hope everything goes fine

Considering getting one it's used 08 interior is awesome but my concerns are the suspension was told it's nearly 7k to get fixed have you experienced suspension issue , if so was it that expensive..

Christopher Camel Suspension was the most expensive repairs i had to make while maintaining this vehicle. Each strut normally would cost between $1200-$1500, so about $7k to get everything repaired sounds about right. The main reason I got rid of this car was because of the constant AIRMATIC issues that were draining pockets and it wasn’t worth to keep putting money into a car that wasn’t worth that much anymore. I would consider getting an ML instead of the GL and you won’t have the AIRMATIC suspension issues to deal with at all.

Dee Greatest thanks for replying I’m actually looking to get it today I notice when test drive well when starting the car ... when struts were rising it seem pretty loud I have a 03 S500 with shocks but they were as old rising ... should it be louder because it’s a suv... any suggestion what I should look for before purchasing this vehicle

Christopher Camel I would check all suspension components, ensure all proper maintenance has been done including service records. You definitely want to ensure it’s been treated well because if not, you can be signing up for a money pit.

+Leanna Ramnarine The car displays time by an analog clock located inside underneath the mph gauge. :) Let me know if you have any more trouble finding it.

it has plastic parts in the timing chain that snap and mess up the engine

Well that comes with owning any Mercedes. The most expensive repair we've paid so far is for the struts connected with the AIRMATIC suspension roughly $1500 per strut if genuine Mercedes parts are used.

Those are not windows, those are mirrors !

That's for sure an uphill button for the uphill assistant. My GL does not have the off road package, if it did, it would have added controls at the bottom of the controls for the uphill and downhill assist as stated in the video.The 2007 GL had an optional Enhanced Off-Road package, which added controls for the locking differentials, as well as extra height intervals for the suspension. Make sure you have your facts straight before correcting someone haha.
