My van had this exact same problem. I tested it exactly the same way and using a power probe and it started with the 12v from power probe. I ended up putting in a used fuse box/tipm, I found one with the same part number so it fired up as soon as I replaced it and everything else worked as before. Another option is to order a bypass relay circuit from this company called Vertical Visions that just plugs right in the fuse box. The only reason I didn’t order it was was because it would have taken 2-3 weeks shipping from USA to Canada, so I was super lucky to find this used tipm at the wrecker. This video was super helpful thanks !!

No, that's what we in the IT industry call "designed obsolescence" - put the part most likely to go out in the most difficult to repair without replacing a more expensive component spot and make some $$$. Same reason most cellphone batteries aren't removable anymore.

Mine started great today went 1 mile and went into the store came out 15 minutes later won't start. Truck kept turning over and over which was strange but engine would start. Battery is good. Wishing now it was my battery

I have a 2017 durango rt and it has the same problem. Might just rip a tipm off another durango at the dealership. Nothing but electrical issues. Not paying for the parts anymore

I have a 2015 challenger and have had starting issues for a couple years now. This is very frustrating, I feel like either getting a bat and destroying the car or getting a lemon law lawyer and taking the dodge dealer to court. I just brought it back from the auto shop, and they told me it was just a blown fuse. 3 weeks later, the car cranks but doesn't start once again. This has happened 3 times, which is unacceptable on a car under 50k miles. The fuel pump is like new, replaced at the Chrysler dealer. This is a beautiful looking car just a headache with the starting issues. I very much just want to get a reliable toyota camry and stop spending money on continuously fixing my Challenger.

no sorry .. when I put the bypass fuse on the bottom of the fuse box .. customer was in the shop and needed the car fast .. so didn't have the time to record it

i have a 2012 dodge Durango and the dealer put a relay for the fuel pump. Ive change the TIPM twice the throttle body and yesterday a new fuel pump. i went to turn the car on i didnt hear the gas pump. i heard the relay click and nothin. i moved the TIPM module and it turned on. Before i put the new fuel pump it was i the dealer for 2 days and they said they couldnt duplicate the problem. Please help if possible

there is also a connector that splits the front hardness going into the back hardness under the driver side front wheel ... somewhere around there ... check that too

same problem in my car - we bypassed the relay and added a fuse in the outside - works just fine, but the fuse burns out everyonce in a while and you can't start the car till you change the fuse

What if you get the car started spraying starting fluid, and it runs fine, idles fine, but will not crank on the initial start.

Wait. How do you get it to “crank” if it doesn’t crank? I hope that makes sense. I think your saying it cranks but it doesn’t start, BUT if you spray starter fluid and it does turn on you probably have “fuel issues”

I didnt get a chance to because the customer brought me a used fuse box and was waiting while I swapped it, but thats what he wanted to do

@@FalconsGarage i will do that on the next couple of days, I did put my scanner and I didn't get any codes, but I will double check what you said, I was reading some on Google about to reprogram the ECM but I'm not 100% sure if that'll be the issue, thank you for responded i appreciated.

i need your help, I have the same o2 connector as in your video, 4 wire, 2x whites for elements and black/gray for signal. I been getting 0141 and 0138 which points to the downstream o2, and i replaced it and still getting hi volts b1s2. i checked the voltage on the truck side, as in your video, and im getting 13v for the elements and 4v for the signal. my upstream sensor is working fine and no other CEL codes have returned its always 0138 and/or 0141

Hey just curious if you remember, did that fuse have any power going to it at all when your tried to crank it? My brothers 2016 Durango is having the same issue but my voltmeter is showing 12v at the fuse when we try to crank. Really don't want to drop the gas tank.

Good work! Most shop wiill rip you off for a new fuse when all you need to do is install a new fuse or a circuit breaker and bypass the relay. Ive never done a fuse box or repair on this type of vehicule. But ive done bypasses and know what works and what doesnt. What i also know is the manufacterers pay engineers the big bucks to designthese these types of sysrems and circuits. I bet a monthes pay that a bypass fuse will work just. My preference is a ciruit breaker

How do you huck up a targoswichto the to the fuel pump on a 08 dodge nitro

I have a similar issue on my 07 Chrysler seebring, car starts sometimes and then immediately stalls and sometimes doesn’t start at all and keeps cranking, I replace the TIPM with a used one 08. Issue came back after 4 days. Could this fix work? I don’t see a fuse to test for the fuel pump. Help with be greatly appreciated thanks!

hey so i have a 2012 rubicon doing the same thing. but when i test either side of the m25 fuse legs im not getting anything. i jumped the leg for the pump directly and still not getting anything. if the fuel pump is bad would it still try to draw power from tipm?

when you give it gas the throttle body opens up and air rushes into the engine .... might start looking there ... maybe a dirty throttle body, air filter or maf

the bolt means there is a short somewere .. over heating is something else.. sound like you have several issues on your hands

Muy buen video, a mi grand caravan '11 le entró agua al motor no sé si dañó un pistón o cilindro, estoy en el punto de que quité el upper intake y 2 de los 6 orificios tenían agua, dos bujías igual. nope... just read something about the computer.. if it's 100 degrees or over outside the truck will think it's over heating and not turn over as a safe switch... i went to the dealership and they said the same thing. so what i do is crack the window a bit and it has nott happen since.. hows that for a computerized truck lol these trucks now days

if it overheated... most likely you have a blown head gasket now .. but thats worst case scenario.. but i dont think its related to the furl pump

How about if the truck stalls out randomly ? I replaces cam , crank sensors , EGR Valve and gonna open up the pcm . But can this also cause random stalling ? It’s a 2010 journey

no, there was nothing wrong with this fuel pump.. so didn't have to replace it.

We thought that was the problem with my 2015. Tipm is fine. We put a new fuel pump module new pump new fuel pressure sensor map sensor an vehicle still starts then dies right away.

It could be an issue with the key/chip. My key is messed up and if the chip is out of place, it will start fine and immediately shut off.

@@jacobwatts8164 makes sense. It does this with both keys though. Something is shutting the pump off. Everything shows to be running but pump is flat lining.

@@FalconsGarage what a pain that was but it wound up being an easy fix. The guy that originally worked on said he replaced the fuel pump. We dropped the tank an the original pump was still installed. Slapped a new one in there and works fine.

Mira tengo una 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 y pasa k la camioneta prende y puede kedar prendida asta unos 2 minutos a 10 o 20 minutos pero de rrepente se apaga y sila prendo luego luego buelve a prender pero como alos 3 a 5 segundos se apaga nueva mente. Y si la prendo de nuevo pues buelve a prender pero de nuevo a los 3 a 5 segundos mas o menos se paga otra ves asi puedo estar todo el dia y la faya persiste. Buenas tardes como estamos. Mire el ultimo codigo k le avia salido era el p1684. Ya de ahi se le desconecto la pila barias veses y la verdad como no tenia la computadora puesta no la e arrancado pero ese era el ultimo codigo k alcanse a scaniar

ese codigo es difisil de saver que es .. tiene muchasposivilidades ...puede ser computadora de tranmision mala .. problema con el hadness ... problema con lacomputadora del carro ... o pude ser nadamas ... baja bateria

I have a 2018 Dodge Charger R/T it also cranks but doesn’t start and when on the run position it do not hear the fuel pump prime also when the car is off it drains the battery i don’t what the issue is can you help?

could be a bad fuel pump .. this electrical problems take allot to figure out and fix

Thank you for sharing quick question how much would u charge for going in there and replace the original fuese ? Or just to have an idea of how much will it cost to replace I’m having the same issue thank you again for the great info on your videos

I think you mean the original relay .. and you really cannot .. you need to by pass it or by a new fuse box

why not try a hard reset first? I've seen same issue then they did hard reset and problem solved.

Its the same for the 2500 diésel or just for gas?

for the lift pump yes.. not for the high pressure pump

My truck doesn’t get any power on the dash or the diagnostic to check

try checking the fuse for the cigarettes' lighter!

I did the fuse was burnt I replaced it and still nothing

your next step if look up a wiring diagram and see what else does this fuse power

Fuel pump

Dodge/Chrysler wouldn't sell me a fuel pump bypass relay kit for my dodge1500 any ideas where i can buy one?

no sorry no tengo un tutorial de ese relay pero si se de que me estas ablando.. si lo he visto pero no me a tocado aser un tutorial en eso.

Couldnt you wire in an external relay

yes you can .. but for modifications like that I wont do them unless the customer 'Ok's" it

So I have this problem, but it only happens when the van has been off for between 1/2 hour to three hours. If I turn the van off and back on within 20 minutes, it's fine. If it's the first time it's been turned off in many hours, it's fine. It always starts once I turn the key off and back on again.

@@FalconsGarage This has happened for three years now. I also have other electrical problems. (one door/window doesn't work at all, back door ONLY opens/closes electronically-if you shut it manually it will not open again...transmission randomly won't go into third gear, etc.)
